I've been gaining weight like crazy.?

2 years ago I got my gallbladder removed and I was at a healthy weight. Rapidly over the year following the surgery I gained almost 60 pounds, although I ate as I had before and went to the gym. Lately I've started to gain weight again, and I just can't handle it. I eat fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch, and something light for dinner with a few snacks inbetween. I don't understand what's going on and I feel like my life is over, and I'm only 18 years old. I fear going to the doctor because I KNOW I'm going to get "You're eating too much and not exercising enough" which I know is not the case.

There may be a medical reason you that you are gaining weight. Go to you MD and explain that you are exercising and eating healthy but still gaining weight. He can run some tests to see if it is your thyroid or another problem.

You can gain weight if you don't get enough sleep are stressed or in menopause.

Before you go to the MD keep a food diary and calculate the number of calories you are eating and how many calories to maintain your weight and how many calories you are burning off by exercising.

This way you'll be prepared to show the MD what you have been doing and you may learn something as well.

Go to SparkPeople.com. This free site will do most of these things for you. All you have to do is enter in your information to track your foods and exercise.

you may have a thyroid condition. cause if you're eatn fruit, salad and somethin light, and a few snacks, you said you went to the gym. was that regularly? and is that regularly? be careful what you put on your salad, too. salad can be a very high fat/calorie meal if it's got alot of dressing, meat, cheese, etc.
