Are there valid reasons that persons interested in Jehovah's Witnesses should?

Do an independent and thorough "outside" search of this religion, BEFORE agreeing to a Bible-Study with them?

Is their organizational literature's spin a guarantee of accurate historical information?

I believe the reasons are manifold.

Can you name some?

Update:

Charles Taze Russell IS the founder of the Bible Students, and many of the beliefs of Russell are held in common by Today's Jehovah's Witnesses. The modern Jehovah's Witnesses however, still proclaim that Russell was a founder of their ideals and general beliefs.

Joseph Franklin Rutherford IS the true founder of Jehovah's Witnesses, and he did all he could to ruin the reputation and scriptural validity of Russell.

Mr. Russell did not adhere to any "Organization" as did Rutherford, but Russell's followers today, "The Bible Students", still cling to the teachings and research relating to the Pyramids and their supposed interplay into Bible prophesy.

Rutherford's past as a drunkard, womanizer, and worse has been carefully chronicled by reliable documented sources, and all of these sources and proven historical evidences are either downplayed, or denied altogether by modern Witnesses.

It is in the teachings of Rutherford that the false proph

Update 2:

prophesies and twisted scripture renderings are still maintained to this day.

It is a proven FACT that certain of the teachings of Rutherford and Russell, (1914, 1925) are contributing reasons why this sect has been accurately referred to as "Accursed".

I do not accused these men of these things, the scriptures do.

Update 3:

Yes, I have dreams about this peoples...that they are released from the bonds of false teachers, and are allowed to ask any question, and are allowed to leave the sect if they don't agree, without fear of having to make a decision between their religion, and their family. As it is, if any member outwardly disagrees with any Jehovah's Witness doctrine, he/she will be expelled if their beliefs are not in exact line with all Watchtower teachings.

So, an outside, independent type of research is highly recommended if future catastrophes are to be avoided.

Update 4:

The Bible says that ALL those putting their faith in Jesus Christ will be persecuted.

These people put their faith in the Father, without ever getting to know the Son.

Update 5:

By all means, if you are interested in a Bible (with aid book) Study with Jehovah's Witnesses, DO SO!

But insist that the research material found through reliable and documented sources are permitted to be used when questioning their beliefs. This is YOUR life they are asking you to surrender, by their word that it is all accurate...they should not oppose any research information presented them if their beliefs can hold to the scrutiny of the Bible.

Such as Deut. 18, 21-23

Watch their hypocrisy: go to Acts to try and say THEY are the ones being persecuted for righteousness....yet

deny everything else in Acts. No Holy ghost; no gifts of the Spirit; no water baptism in Jesus Name for remission of sins....yet one verse seems to suit their purpose....what?

Now how can they know the FATHER without first knowing the Son? No way. So the one they 'think' is Father, is really not Father.

Scripture says, no one can know the Father, except the Son reveals him to them. No one knows who the son is but the Father; and no one knows who the Father is, except the son and he to whom the Son reveals him.

So they know neither the Son nor the Father. So their 'jehoveh' is a false god. He is not the true Jehovah, anymore than the 'jesus' of catholicism, (and hence all the others)... is the True Jesus. No way.

Nothing they teach concerning their 'jesus' fits what Scripture says about the true Jesus.

and nothing this sect of JW teaches concerning their 'god' fits what Scripture says about the GOD THE FATHER.

He demands us to worship his son, and call him our Lord and our God.

He will not allow anyone to come directly to HIM, without first coming through the Son, the Acts2 way. Everyone in Scripture had to come this same way.,,,,yet all churches today go another way, rejecting this truth.

By manner of assessment to illustrate the fake conclusions you may have arrived at approximately Jehovah's Witnesses, keep in mind: Would you assert that Paul was once a supporter of circumcision? (Read Acts 15:one million, two; Galatians five:one million-three; Titus one million:10) Why, then, did he circumcise Timothy? (Acts sixteen:one million-three) Do you spot the parallel among the cause for Paul's circumcision of Timothy (despite the fact that he was once no longer a supporter of circumcision) and the object declaring that a Christian "MAY keep in mind whether or not or no longer interracial marriage is prone to create a severely opposed end result at the perspective of the men and women in his neighborhood closer to this Kingdom-declaration paintings"? Do you spot how Jehovah's Witnesses honestly comply with the instance of Paul in searching for to do all matters for the sake of the well information -- even on the hazard of being falsely accused of racism by means of unfair participants like your self? (1Corinthians nine:20-23) Do you spot how your cost towards Jehovah's Witnesses is incorrect?

The people in BBC know more about the bible than the elite anointed men(annoying men) in the WTBTS head quarters.

Some times ago the BBC aired a program regarding the bible. My independent research about the origin and composition of the bible and teachings of Christ with various accounts lead me to quit the cult.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L7cQ3BrD5U&feature...

    http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lost+b...

From 2008 July I started my personal bible study.First i read the entire bible completely. After reading I had more questions.

    Who composed the Bible?

    When and where?

    who influenced the composition?

Who are they and what are there back grounds?

why did they ommited some books?

    what did they contain?

Were the men in Brooklyn really anointed?

if so who anointed them, when and how?

why can't they utter any thing right?

and why did they ask us donations?

Did Jehovah and jesus interested in donations to evade to sales tax?

Who is in charge of the WTBTS?Jehovah or jesus?

Who persuaded WTBTS to file amicus curiae on behalf of a constant fornicator and tele evangelist mr.Jimmy Swaggart,is it Jehovah or Jesus?

And i was able to find the answers for all of them from independent sources. Then I compared with the JW teachings. All scriptures inspired says a very funny thing about prophet Moses who was revered by Jews, muslims and christians.ALL SCRIPTURES INSPIRED says Moses compared egyptian notes to write the bible( i don't know how would our beloved prophet Moses would react when he came to know this)

The bible was composed in the council Nicea and it is not even mentioned in the cult book ALL SCRIPTURES INSPIRED.So their entire idea is based on their own theories and it was bent to enforce their doctrines.

Their brain washing cult book WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH care fully and smoothly enforces the ideas of the cult inside the mind of the innocent reader. Then it is very hard to escape from the cult.

Independent research is strightly prohibited and questions regarding the ever changing doctrines will be answered with single word NEW LIGHT and the questioner has to accept the WTBTS version or he will be kicked out.

Contrary to some publicity made concerning "Jehovah's Witnesses," Pastor Russell is not the founder of this religious group. He has never associated with "Jehovah's Witnesses" nor did he ever claim the name. Pastor Charles T. Russell died in 1916. The "Jehovah's Witnesses" came into existence later. Associating Pastor Russell with "Jehovah's Witnesses" leaves the decidedly mistaken view that their teachings and beliefs are alike. Such is not the case.

Pastor Russell founded what has been called The Bible Student's Association. This movement had its beginning in Allegheny, Pa. and earnest Christians formed a Bible class for advanced Bible study to meet the then rising wave of infidelity. In 1879 Zion's Watch Tower was formed, later known as The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. This Society did not become the central authority for the Bible Students, for all cooperating congregations of Bible Students held strictly to congregational self-government. The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society only served to coordinate the activities of the various congregations. After the death of Pastor Russell in 1916 the purpose of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society changed completely. The teachings of the six volumes of "Studies in the Scriptures" and other writings of Pastor Russell were discarded. The congregations in harmony with the Society thereafter relinquished congregational rule. The Society became the central head and authority over all congregations willing to yield their sovereignty. Basic doctrines of the Society seriously digressed from the teachings of Pastor Russell, and before long Judge Rutherford declared that those associated with The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society were "Jehovah's Witnesses" on this earth. Here is where the name emerged -- certainly not in Pastor Russell's time.

Seriously, do you like being miserable or something? There may be a reason that you just cannot get over the Witnesses.

"[They] claim things that never even happened (such as the trinity being discussed at Nicea)."

I'm not sure what you think you've read, but it seems that you're mistaken. From our brochure on the Trinity:

"AT THIS point you might ask: 'If the Trinity is not a Biblical teaching, how did it become a doctrine of Christendom?' Many think that it was formulated at the Council of Nicaea in 325 C.E.

"That is not totally correct, however. The Council of Nicaea did assert that Christ was of the same substance as God, which laid the groundwork for later Trinitarian theology. But it did not establish the Trinity, for at that council there was no mention of the holy spirit as the third person of a triune Godhead."

If you are interested in the Bible's answer, here it is:

(Acts 28:22) . . .But we think it proper to hear from you what your thoughts are, for truly as regards this sect it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.”

Yes, just as the truth was maligned and spoken against in the first century, we should not think any different today. The wise and divine course of action that would meet with approval would be to go to the source. Just as the Jews in Rome who really wanted to know the truth. Notice their noble mind was recorded for our benefit. If you want to know the truth regarding Jehovah's Witness, talk with a Jehovah's Witness. We would be happy to inform you.

Also all of our beliefs and practices are open to all who care to study them. You may visit jw.org where you have publications available for download and study in both audio and book format. Also you may visit any Kingdom Hall in your area, call one, or usually you may have a visit from a Jehovah's Witness that would be happy to answer any of your questions.

The historical information they present is usually inaccurate; they use real events, dates, and people (such as the council of Nicea and the Emperor Constantine), but claim things that never even happened (such as the trinity being discussed at Nicea) and fabricate the information. I have read their publication on a few occasions and like going through the articles and seeing how they arrived at some of their theological positions and what historical proof they have to support it (I especially love their connection between pagan holidays and Christian holidays, such as Easter and Christmas).

Why not just question as you go along and do your own research as well? I do that in anything I study but it helps to have a class to get me to study. Some classes I didn't care for I also learned the most in. You don't like it-leave go to another

I don't go for these instant preachers who tell you to come up and be saved

Everyone should learn the truth. You have to understand that no matter who it is, if they want to search for the One True God, Jehovah, He will make their paths straight, no matter what. He will give them the right information they need from the Bible so they will make the right choice and dedicate their lives to Him. Jehovah is the one that matters, it is His Sovereignty at stake.
