How do you program a keyless remote for a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix?

I have the remote and everything but it's not set to my car. How do I make it work with my Grand Prix?

The "key fobs" have to be programmed with a Tech2(scan tool) or equivalent. You can get a programmable scan tool from some auto parts stores, but it won't be cheap. The plus to getting your own scan tool is that you will always know what the service engine soon lights are and have the tool to shut them off or fix what's wrong. It's that or take it to a dealer and have them reprogram it.

the two do it the way the different guy stated, or take it to a broker and that they are going to software it with the Tech2 scanner that's lots much less complicated. We used to do it free of can charge additionally.

take it to a dealership and they can read the key code then program the key pad, door code, etc to your car
