What can I do with 8 cores of processing power?

Should I update my mac pro tower to a 8 core machine? What kind of things would it be good for?

Pretty much unnecessary, good for massive multitasking. Quad cores still do everything you need now days. I would rather have a quad-core at 3.4GHz than an 8 core at 2.8GHz. Even gaming pcs don't need 6 or 8 cores yet. If you want to speed up your pc buy a 120GB ssd then put windows on it and all your games then plug in your regular hdd after you set up the ssd. I did this with windows 7 and it configured it all for me. My ssd is only 64 gigs but finally I need more room so I am going to install my other ssd of 32GB. I quit using my other style hdd as I don't need a lot of storage space as I do mostly interner things.
