Can exercise/heat trigger an allergic reaction to Antibiotics?
I went ice skating last night, and broke out in really bad hives. They only lasted about 30mins and went away when I started to cool down. This has only happened once before in Paris, and there are no food, clothing or environmental factors which could have triggered the allergic reaction. I have also been ice skating and done physical activity in the past so its not heat/exercise related alone. The only thing that I can think of as being the same is that I was taking amoxcillin. But I've taken it before without any problems. So I was wondering if its possible for the exercise/heat to have triggered a reaction to the amoxcillin. I can't think of any other reason for it.
I didn't think 'Oh I'll go climb mount everest' I usually do take it easy on antibiotics. But last time I thought 'Oh I've been saving and planning this trip for a year, I'm going to make the most of it' and this time I thought 'Oh I'm going to go meet these friends I haven't seen in years'. Believe me I'm usually very careful to look after myself when I'm sick. But sometimes you have to make exceptions.

I think it more likely that the combination of warmth, exercise and the amoxicillin triggered a side effect, not actually an allergy. You are taking the amoxicillin because you have some sort of infection going on, ergo, you are vulnerable.
Just a question of my own: Doesn't anyone ever consider that maybe it's a good idea to take it a little easy when they're sick? Instead of thinking, "Oh, I'm on antibiotics so I'll go ahead and climb Mt. Everest."

not directly , but if you have a condition like a G6PD deficiency , or other special conditions , you have to read carefully the warnings on the instruction before taking them. I for one , cannot take amoxicillin because i have G6PD deficiency , and if i take it , that will cause heamolysis.
Go check with your doctors, because there are people who are allergic to some types of medication , or allergic to the additives in a med
