If Christians are against condoms because it keeps sperm and egg separate, doesn't that mean...?

Abstinence should also be outlawed because it keeps sperm and egg separate?

Update:

@Wise: It wasn't supposed to be a joke. It was supposed to be a deep, philosophical question that would be asked for an eternity until the universe implodes.

Not really.

I'm sure there was a joke here somewhere. Don't quit the day job. Give you credit for trying it out on us first. You would have gotten egged if you were at a club.

    No, because abstinence isn't enjoyable.

It's analogous to saying that going without a piece of software or music or a movie is depriving its maker of an income just as much as using an unlicenced copy. It is, but in the former case you don't get the enjoyment of it.

What it all comes down to is, mean-spirited individuals not wanting other people to enjoy things.

It's Roman Catholics who teach that family planning is wrong, they also teach something about abstinence that followers ignore for the old command to be fruitful and multiply. More than 7 billion people in the world, hasn't humanity been fruitful enough?

theyre against it because they believe sex should only be for procreation with a spouse meaing there is no need for contraception. They believe in "having as many kids as the good lord lets us" But I dont believe in that at all and I am christian. Its sooo stupid. But you did make a good point in pointing out one of the hundreds of contradictions SOME christian churches have. You can't really put every christian denomination together like that because personally I'm episcopalian and we are nothing like Catholics. Catholics are really againt condoms but we arent.

Christendom may be against condoms, but Christianity is not. Birth control is a personal choice, and does not violate Bible standards unless it actually causes the death of a zygote, embryo, or fetus.

No thats only Catholics. Protestants and Orthodox have rarely objected.

Although in Catholic theology - I believes its not because its keeps the sepraration rates down, but they object to it because they see it as something that cheapens sex, inapproriatly taking the pleasure without the responsibility in a way that objects to whole purpose of sex.

I ordered a chicken salad in a Christian restaurant, I got omelet and chips. Christians cannot tell the difference

Your logic sucks. And only Catholics and certain sects of Orthodoxy are against birth control. Most mainline churches are all for it.
