The "blue screen of death" is a little overused.
If your computer is crashing every time you try Homefront, my best guess is:
(a) you don't have the right equipment to handle it;
(b) if there were different versions ( AMD/Intel)\ ( 32-bit/64 bit) ( ATi/NVidia).. you somehow got the wrong one.
or (c) the code you downloaded is corrupt.
EDIT: after reading some of the support boards...
option (d) - the game is just poorly coded //end edit
First: when the machine crashes - all of that information is useful if someone knows what they are doing. If you really have troubles, take a cell-phone photo, or write it down quickly. If the same thing is causing it -- the error codes and memory registers will be similar every time.
Second: double-check that you have the appropriate hardware to run the game, and that you have the correct install for your hardware.
Third: Shut down everything you don't need just to see if that helps. Any email, webpages, instant message, antivirus, screen saver, clock, -ANYTHING- that is not required to run the game should be killed before you try. Then see if the game still crashes.
Finally: check with the Steam support boards and/or thq support.
lots of tips like:
- use windowed mode, not full screen; have latest video drivers; DX10 may work better than DX11; registry patches, etc.

Visit -> http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=62...
Check the Spec's or enter your computers details in the 'Can i run it' Section.
That should state if your computer can handle the Homefront game.
As for the BSOD.. It could just be down the the game.
What Error codes do you get on the BSOD?
Hope it helps :)
