1. Martin Scorsese
2. Wes Anderson
3. Quentin Tarantino
4. Joel & Ethan Coen
5. David Fincher
6. Francis Ford Coppola
7. Paul Thomas Anderson
8. Alexander Payne
9. Ben Affleck/Jason Reitman
10. Milos Forman
There's obviously a lot more, but those ten stand out above the rest, in my opinion.
BQ: Goodfellas
BQ2: Book a hotel in New York, pay for MQ's gas, and buy tickets to the MK premiere.
BQ3: Election. Have you seen that? Great, great movie.
BQ4: Last three:
The Grey - Very good movie. Liam Neeson gave an excellent performance, and all of the characters were fully realized. It won't remain one of my favorites from 2012, but it's definitley solid filmmaking.
Zero Day - One of the most powerful and disturbing films I've ever seen. I can't stop thinking about it. A masterpiece, in my opinion.
Papillon - Another masterpiece. Makes me want to watch more from Steve McQueen.
Next Three:
Idiocracy
Blue Valentine with commentary
The Vow
BQ5: The film is great, but the real stand out was Gosling's tour de force performance. His second best.
BQ6: I'm interested in Being Flynn, Red Lights got underwhelming reviews at Sundance though. Supposedly it's a good movie with a horrible ending, so I'll wait for the DVD.
BQ7: Goodfellas
BQ8: 12 stars, 5 answers.
BQ9: I did not know that.
BQ10: Mr. Kerabatsos

Darren Aronofsky
BQ: Yeah, Goodfellas
BQ2: Booze, blackjack and hookers; high roller
BQ3: The Departed, wasn't too long ago that I saw it and I thought it was fantastic.
BQ4: Planet Terror, Death Proof, End of Days - next 3 are: Identity, Battle Royale and Donnie Brasco
BQ5: I haven't, but I just looked it up and it sounds pretty good. Ryan Gosling is a pimp.
BQ6: I don't really do the cinema so I'll probably wait for DVD.
BQ7: Sliding Doors is the only one I can think of, and I'm gay for even remembering that.
BQ8: 7 answers 8 stars
BQ9: Did you ask where to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 online for free?
BQ10: King, I don't know I don't spend much time here anymore but Madeleine is the queen for definite.
PS, I liked you better when you were GOB. I don't know this Donny guy.
edit; since when was the movies section a competition?
Do you want a cage for that? No.. I'm a magician.

Martin Scorsese
Wes Anderson
Darren Aronofsky
Steven Spielberg
Robert Zemeckis
David Fincher
Mike Nichols
Sam Mendes
Christopher Nolan
Alexander Payne
...and more recently, George Clooney. I really like his few films.
BQ: Goodfellas!!
BQ2: Okay
BQ3: Either Inglourious Basterds or Changeling.
BQ4: Goodbye, Lenin!, Inglourious Basterds and Inside Man. Next three: Platoon, Saving Private Ryan and The Edukators.
BQ5: I haven't seen it yet.
BQ6: Nah. He's kind of a sell-out now.
BQ7: I honestly cannot think of one right now.
BQ8: ...
BQ9: Okay
BQ10: Really? Are you actually doing this?
You kinda seem like an ********
- emjobLv 79 years ago
Goodness me!
Clint Eastwood
Michael Haneke
Sidney Lumet
Hayao Miyazaki
Quentin Tarantino
Ridley Scott
Peter Jackson
Steven Spielberg
David Cronenberg
Martin Scorsese
Honourable mentions: Mike Leigh, Danny Boyle and David Fincher. Just didn't have enough room!
BQ: What everyone else said, but to be fair I wouldn't have known!
BQ2: Buy a rescue dog and a rescue parrot and they'll become best friends.
BQ3: Changeling.
BQ4: Last 3 - 'Captain America', 'Pineapple Express' and 'Carry on Camping'. I am going to see 'The Woman in Black' at the cinema tonight, yay!! I'm going to watch 'Capote' this Friday night as well, but not sure on a third yet.
BQ5: Never seen it, might do one day. If you like The Gos, have you seen 'Lars and the Real Girl'? That movie is just lovely, very strange, but lovely. He's superb in it.
BQ6: Wait for DVD, I rarely go to the cinema except very special occasions.
BQ7: Pulp Fiction of course :) Jules and Vincent leave the coffee shop, door swings shut, movie ends. I always remember it well because of that great music playing in the background, pure exit music for a film (not like the Radiohead song ha ha)
BQ8: I can't remember now I've started answering! Around 10?
BQ9: Oh yeah? Cooool :)
BQ10: I'd say Maddie for her consistency and knowledge (and amazing questions). Rebellion is great too, her knowledge of classics and foreign language movies seems super. But I do love Logan, she likes a lot of the same movies as me and is a bit of a horror buff. Oh and Tamara, she just knows loads and her excitement and enthusiasm for movies is very evident.
......And if you include me (*clears throat importantly*) looks like the GIRLS rule the movie section :D (I love you guys too! V, Umar, Liam, Gabriel, Donny of course...! etc. etc.)
edit: damn, I put a dead director down! :) not changing it now....he's alive...in spirit.

Hey Donny! :)
Martin Scorsese
Werner Herzog
Hayao Miyazaki
David Fincher
Guillermo del Toro
David Cronenberg
Darren Aronofsky
Clint Eastwood
Peter Jackson
Quentin Tarantino
BA- That would be a picture of the painting in Goodfellas.
BA2- I would invest it in something that gives me more cash in return. Something that's an asset. I tend to put 75% in the bank and use the rest as petty cash.
BA3- We Need To Talk About Kevin
BA4- Last 3- Contact, The Producers, Duck Soup
Next 3- Vengeance Is Mine, Werckmeister Harmonies, 25th Hour
BA5- Haha! The Gos IS fantastic! Haven't seen Half Nelson though :/ I did watch Ides of March recently though, and so far his characters have forgotten women in abortion clinics twice...dunno how I feel about that. :P
BA6- I wait for almost everything to come out on DVD unless I really, really like the actor/director attached to the project. I like de niro but "Limitless" was 'meh' it didn't haavee to be seen at the cinemas. I'll definitely check out Being Flynn (Paul Dano & Weitz!), doubtful about Red Lights.
BA7- The Godfather
BA8- By the end of the week? Possibly 10?
BA9- O: Sheeesh! No I did not know that. What was the question??
B10- I consider myself a newbie on here, so I dunno if I have enough credibility to say this but, suicidal ice cream truck driver, GCS seems like someone with a sound grasp on a ton of movies. There's a lot of people on here who're accomplished movie-buffs though, like Emjob, Metal Quality, you.
EDIT: Lol "not trying to gloat... (and then proceeds to gloat)" :P If you just wanted us to tell you that you that you were the "king of this section" then may as well have said: "I rule this section." Well, 'Mr. Kerabatsos' we all know who's getting BA now. :) Considering that all of us who didn't answer according to your standards... we are inadequate. Or maybe I just don't have "enough brain".

You aren't gonna like my answer. At all. This is just the order that comes to mind
Steven Spielberg
Darren Aoronfsky
David Lynch
Pedro Almodóvar
David Cronenberg
Martin Scorsese
Terrence Malick
David Fincher
Michael Mann
Michael Haneke
BA: No idea
BA2: Bragging, much?
BA3: Paris Texas
BA4: Last watched: Identity, Ip Man and Underground. Plan to watch Mystery Train, Primer and Solaris
BA5: haven't seen
BA6: DVD. I hardly if ever go to the cinemas
BA7: The Godfather
BA8: Probably 2 or 3. And probably 9-ish stars.
BA9: That really sucks. Honestly, it does. Remember when I had about every question I asked deleted for about two weeks?
BA10: Tamara Nartichini
Well here are the facts, Donny
-I don't delete contacts randomly for no goddamn reason
-I ask questions every day that I actually put alot of thought into
-I don't bash people for their taste in movies, asking elitist questions
-I don't brag on the internet
-I don't send people elitist emails
-I'm not a Martin Scorsese fanboy
-I don't have a user here constantly sucking up to me, feeding my ego
-I don't know who Scar Jokes is, and frankly, I don't need to
-You got $295? Whopeedee- ******* do. No one gives a ****.
-I don't make stupid statements like ''Departed is the best movie of the decade'' when, well, you've seen hardly, if any foreign language movies. Seen Amoress Peross? But you've sure as hell seen 21 Grams. lol.
I may come across as a ***** now, but c'mon, you have been a massive d*ck to me in the past, and if anyone asks, I'll tell them why.
**Oh wait, I figured out who Scar Jokes was. Let me guess. He had the exact same taste in movies as you did, the exact same attitude and beliefs. His favourite director was either Wes Anderson or Martin Scorsese and thought Robert De Niro was the best actor on earth. Question, was he a dick to other people also?
- ?Lv 69 years ago
lol, that's a lot of words up there
anyway, the only question that I care enough to answer right now is
BQ10 without a doubt: Madeleine, AKA suicidal ice cream truck driver
whenever I'd check this section during the last 6-8 months, it was almost exclusively her questions that I'd see and damn, her questions rock
Logan, too btw. at a certain point I actually thought Donny was gone for good (just like his b-buddie) - he exhibited almost zero activity
I'll maybe edit if get in the mood for it
@ Donny: why do you feel the need to explain yourself, mr. personal life? lol anyway, you just expanded on my BQ10 :D
