Do people struggle with God because they dont want to put in the effort?

I notice that most of the biographies i read of those who were intimate with God were very strict with themselves and maintained the highest state of purity as they could. they also were willing to suffer many things in order to remain as close to God as possible. So it seems natural that the world would have very few that are willing to go the extra mile in such a manner.

Yes it is true because the closer ones walk is with God the more that person gives up and a lot of people do not want to give up those things that give them pleasure.

You are right.  Many people deny God and they convince themselves that living a christian life restricts them from being happy or to continue to live their life now.  I don't find it hard to be a christian.  If you love God, yourself and others and all of Gods creatures and the world.  That pretty much covers it.  Jo Ann

We are carnal minded (earthy/dirt).  We tend to lean this way,  God's way is higher than this, so He struggles with our fleshy sides right now.  We can't not sin, we are sinners.  God's saying, ok sins are not the problem, the problem is lift your soul & spirit up.  Your character, better morals, principles, up standing people.  Walking right with,God, challenges us to bring out good, as Jesus is our CEO in this.  Who we follow in spirit & truth.

yes actually, religious experiences stimulate a part of the brain, like a muscle, you need to work on it through meditation or prayer or other religious practices.  its the God spot in your brain, the cranial G spot.

some people are born with that part stronger I guess, most people have to work,put the effort in.  and they never will if they already decide not to believe in religion.
