Why do the churches teach heaven and hell ...............?

They teach that those who believe go to heaven but if you don't you go to hell. But as soon as someone dies whom they believe should go to hell they tell the family that the person is in heaven.(Referring to the discourse given at the funeral) Why? Could it be that none of it is true? It's just another way to keep you paying.

Update:

Cader- Based on what you said the church lies. They will tell you what you want to hear instead of teaching the truth. How sad is that?

    Heaven or hell as the end-- only taught by false religions who dont bother listening to Jesus who said-- Happy are the meek( mild tempered) for they will inherit the earth. Jesus is not with those religions.

  • It would be difficult telling relatives who are grieving that their loved one is not in heaven! Even if one believes that, it is not the time for such things. But they are compromising a bit in saying for sure the people are going to heaven. But then sometimes the service has a standard structure, with standard things said, so the stuff said is what would apply for a christian. It would be hassle to provide fully unique individual services each time .. which is why there are a lot of standardised words and prayers, but usually with space for individual choice of hymns, music, readings etc.

    Originally christians only buried christians, then the State got wrapped up with christianity as the official religion, starting with the Emperor Constantine. So State churches engage in some compromise with "the world", since it is expected they will provide ceremonial services for all.

    Orthodox Christianity does not do this. We recognize that the soul is experiencing its first foretaste of its ultimate destination in what is called the "Partial Judgement". We all await the final judgement (when all our deeds are revealed -- Matt 25:31-46), at which time we will all go to eternity in the presence of God, or into eternity trying to escape God, who, being everywhere, cannot be escaped.

    The Orthodox funeral service includes prayers for the soul of the departed, and songs sung from the point of view of the departed one asking for forgiveness, but does not assume that the dead one is in heaven.

    Blessings.

    Many churches are fallen.

    They care more about profits than the true word of the gospel.

    Some churches do NOT represent christianity, so do not be decieved

    And by the way, just "believing" does not gurantee you a place in heaven, so they are also not teaching properly.

    Church doctrine is so messed up with all the Pagan worship they allow. God is sick of it as well. All religion (with the exception of the true one) is going to be done away with when God causes the UN to ban religion.

    The truth is this; . 3 And they are singing as if a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been bought from the earth.

    ( this group that is singing the new song are teaching truths about God's Kingdom.and these are chosen to rule with Jesus in his Kindom over the earth.) Rev 20:6/b , but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years. : This authority anointed conquerors receive at their resurrection is a sharing with Jesus in wielding the “iron rod” of destruction against the nations at Armageddon. Christ will dash his enemies to pieces as he would vessels of clay.—Psalm 2:8, 9; Revelation 16:14, 16;

    The truth is this; Psalms 37:9 For evildoers themselves will be cut off,

    But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.

    10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;

    And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.

    11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,

    And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

    Psalms 37:34 Hope in Jehovah and keep his way,

    And he will exalt you to take possession of the earth.

    When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see [it].

    (the rest of the righteous will live on earth under God's Kingdom)

    Truth is: Daniel 2:44) “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

    (during the last world power, the UN; this is what has been happening in heaven)

    At the beginning of the restoration of Paradise, earth-wide peace will prevail. The survivors of God’s global war of Armageddon will continue to abide by the words of the prophecy that they are fulfilling right now: “They will not lift up sword, nation against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.” That is why the prophecy can add: “They will actually sit, each one under his vine and under his fig tree, and there will be no one making them tremble.” (Micah 4:3, 4) For how long? The heartwarming promise is: “To peace there will be no end.”—Isaiah 9:7.

    The truth is this; True Bible belief is that hell is the common grave of mankind. It is not eternal. Jesus Christ went to the Bible hell, and he was raised out of it. (Acts 2:31) Hell (or Hades) is even to be destroyed by its being emptied of its dead occupants through the resurrection of the dead: “Death and Hades gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds. And death and Hades were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.” (Rev. 20:13, 14) Instead of hell being a fiery place, The second death is a state of everlasting destruction. Those who have no hope will be in that state of non existance. That hell is a place of torment is a false belief: “As for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.”—Eccl. 9:5.

    the truth is; Christendom’s popular doctrine—the trinity? It should not surprise one by now that this is of pagan origin. The doctrine, besides being unreasonable, is unscriptural. No scripture teaches a trinity. According to the trinity, the Father and Son are coeternal; but of Jesus Christ the Bible says that he is “the firstborn of all creation” and “the beginning of the creation by God.” Neither are the Father and Son coequal, for Jesus declared: “The Father is greater than I am.” As for the holy spirit, it is not a person but the invisible active force of God.—Col. 1:15; Rev. 3:14; John 14:28.

    Trinity is another of the false beliefs in Christendom ” Why take a chance with false beliefs? Prove what is false and reject it. Prove what is true and hold to it. Only the truth can set one free and enable one to bring forth the fine fruit of right religion that is acceptable to God.

    John 17:3) This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

    There is only one God, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism that will gain the true God Jehovah's aproval.

    The truth is; Jehovah is God and Jesus is not. The devil loves for people to not really know God or Christ. He sets our saviour up to be a false god. Can you imagine? OH! Jesus did not die on a cross. That was Pagan , T for Tammuz sun god worship. The steeple is Pagan for the fertility god. They had to allow those Pagans to bring in their idols so they could get members.

    How is this for truth? JW

    No. Smh.. *face palm*, how do you know that the person is going to hell, you can't even make statements like that when you know so little about what your trying to comprehend. Secodly the churches teach them because it is part of their doctrine.

    The Word of God teaches the REALITY of Heaven and Hell.

    The very fact that JESUS came and died on the cross is the PROOF that Hell is real and that God does not want anyone to go there. God did NOT send His Son to die for any RELIGION.....or to die in vain to save us from an IMAGINARY fate. Hell is absolutely REAL and the ONLY hope that fallen mankind has to escape going there is through faith in Jesus ALONE......

    JESUS is the One Who PAID......He paid the price for ALL of our sins......enduring the judgment of God

    that was due to each of us........ For the first and only time in eternity, as He was dying on the cross, Jesus cried out, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME....". -- SO that WE could be able to say, "MY FATHER, MY FATHER...." when we come to God THROUGH Him.

    2 Corinthians 5:21 (New King James Version)

    21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

    Jesus laid down HIS life, so that WE could have eternal life.....and when He warned us of Hell, He was not appeasing Religion. He was speaking the TRUTH. Eternity is on the line and He came for the very purpose of saving us and nothing less. He wasn't LYING when He said this....

    John 8:24 (New King James Version)

    24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

    Luke 13:3-5 (New King James Version)

    3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

    John 3:18-21 (New King James Version)

    18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

    John 14:6 (New King James Version)

    6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

    If NOT to save fallen mankind from having to go to hell for eternity, WHY do you THINK Jesus endured the pain and suffering and judgment that He did? Do you think He came to die as a martyr for His own faith?? He did not die to start a new Religion or to give us two new "holidays" on the calendar.

    God created Hell for satan and the other fallen angels....and BECAUSE of Adam's CHOICE to willfully disobey God's warning, ALL of us were "handed" over to satan....and it is satan who wants people to go to hell for all eternity -- NOT GOD!!!!!!

    Revelation 20:15 (New King James Version)

    15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

    What they really mean to say is that they HOPE that soul is in heaven.
