Why does the book of JOB Repeat itself?
in chapter one, Job says,
6 One day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan[b] also came with them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
8 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
12 The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”
Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
Then in chaprter 2, The bible, almost verbatim, says the same exact thing- verses 1-7
Why does it do that?? It confused me.

They are 2 very different occurrences. Not a repetition but a continuation.

Hello,
The scriptures are not always in sequence chronologically. Apart from that, no doubt Satan was roving more than once, and still is (1 Pet. 5:8). What's more important, don't you think, is that no matter what Satan tried, Job remained faithful, although not an Israelite. A good example of upholding Jehovah God's sovereignty.
Kind regards, Günter

It's part of the literary structure of the book. Job starts out with 2 chapters of prose, then comes a bunch of poetry (39 chapters) which closes with another prose section. The repetition is intentional. It sets the stage emotionally for what is to follow. One thing to keep in mind is that Job is a story. That doesn't mean that Job wasn't a real guy or any of that. But the material in the book is arranged very carefully and put together to make a point. Reading it with that in mind might help you some.

Just two separate instances where the angels came to present themselves before God, and God interrogating Satan.
