Hockey trivia what is it?

Dallas has done it

St Louis has not

Edmonton has done it 7 times ( a record)

Florida has done it once

Toronto has never done it, the rest of the orginal six have done it

In fact 22 of 30 teams have done it, every team in the Atlantic division has done it, only Det and the hawks have done it in the Central.

What is it?

Russ is sort of on the right track, The edmonton, Toronto + Fla clues should be enough to get it. You can go back to the beginning of the league so it is not date senstive but dates may be important.

Update 3:

It is playoff related and the Leafs are the only cup winner to have never done it. The others that have not done it are SJS, Phx, winnipeg, Minn as the wild ( North stars did do it), Blue jackets, Blues and predators

Update 4:

Jacoby pretty much has it in that all those teams have won 12 in a year. Edm only has 6 times by that measure as they only won 11 in 83. round 1 was a best of 5 and they were swept in the final.

The answer is they have played 4 playoff rounds in the same year. Nhl only moved to a 4 round format (16 teams making the playoffs) in 1980 so those are the 22 teams that have played in the finals or 4 rounds in the same year since 1980.

    Won at least 12 playoff games in a single postseason?

    At first I thought it was be swept in the Stanley Cup Final, but that's not right.

    Could be draft-pick related, maybe.

    Other thing that comes to mind is not making the playoffs after being in the SCF.

    Making the STF in a leap year? I'm dying a little on the instead from this question.

    I think Joel is right. Surprised Toronto never won a Conference Championship.
