Why is it so hard for people to understand the REAL motivation for terrorism?
If you ask Santorum, Gingrich, or Romney why we were attacked on 9/11, they'd say that it is specifically for our religions freedom and culture. The majority of Americans would also say this.
People are so quick to denounce the idea that maybe it's our decades of aggressive foreign policy, military presence on Muslim Holy Lands, war-belligerence in other countries and our history of supporting ruthless and oppressive dictators. How would WE feel if other countries were doing these things to US?
I seriously don't understand why it is so hard for some people to take a closer look at terrorism and realize that we AREN'T being targeted solely for our culture. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Thanks!
It seems that Derek and Ice Ball are the only ones with any common sense here.An
To those who use the "Islam is a religion of hate and aggression." argument then you are HIGHLY irrational with your thinking. The fact that 99.9% of all followers of the world's largest and fastest growing religion are peaceful. That makes any argument of that uneducated sort completely invalid.

American foreign policy leaves much to be desired however your position is not backed by facts.
There are terrorist groups in virtually every culture country and society.
Santorum, Gingrich, or Romney--- they are running for office, if they don't say this "great country of ours" "land of opportunity" 15 times a day they lose their PAC money.
"Islam is a religion of hate and aggression." The more i see the more i believe. at some point there are millions of people living in countries where women are treated like chattel, blasphemy is a common event. It not PC but if you got the nerve to wear a shirt with a mohamed cartoon on the front in a Muslim country, your opinion would have a little more weight.

I don't care what the motivation is.
You kill people, you reap the whirlwind.
