Favourite cameo in a movie?
Is there a cameo that stands out for you even if the rest of the movie isn't really great?
In my case, I found Tom Cruise's cameo in Tropic Thunder quite entertaining. The movie in itself is okay types, more a humongous vanity project for Ben Stiller. Ben Stiller acted in, co-wrote, produced, and directed the movie.
Great answers so far.
@Liam - I believe Hitchcock has made "an appearance" in most of his movies :)
@Rebellion - My turn to say OMG....looking at your activity and correlating the data with GMT...when do you really sleep?? and I am not stalking you :-P

Haha as soon as I read this question I thought of Tom Cruise! But you got to it first! :P I also really do enjoy looking for Peter Jackson, in the movies he makes- because he's made an appearance ever since Bad Taste. Martin Scorsese in Hugo surprised me as well. His adorable smiling face just popped up for a few seconds out of no where- such a model. :P (I think he's got a cameo in Taxi Driver as well...)
But really Tom Cruise's cameo in Tropic Thunder takes the cake out of all those previously mentioned. From beginning to end the movie itself is just ridiculously funny but every frame with Cruise had me thinking "omg, omg, I cannot believe this is happening" right to the end when the credits roll and he's culminating in one of the most hilarious dance scenes ever to grace cinema.
EDIT: Haha! It's 8:29am out here brosef. Years of all-nighters and overnight gaming has left me unaffected by lack of sleep. Lol and its cool, stalk away! Just as long as that "stalking" doesn't wanna skin me alive, we're good.

I loved Tom Cruise's cameo in Tropic Thunder! He was excellent and almost unrecognisable. Loved the movie too, thought it was one of Stiller's best comedies yet and Robert Downey Jr. was amazing, would have won the oscar for best supporting actor if only he wasn't up against Heath Ledger's The Joker...
Also loved the following great cameos:
- Keith Richards as Captain Teague in Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End
- Judy Densch as Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love
- Neil Patrick Harris as himself in Harold & Kumar go to White Castle
- Bruce Springsteen as himself in High Fidelity
- Dawid Bowie as himself in Zoolander
- Martin Sheen as Capt. Benjamin L Willard in Hot Shots!: Part Deux

I love Wes Craven's cameo in Scream as the janitor dressed up as Freddy Krueger.
Also Alfred Hitchcock in North By Northwest. That's all I can think of at the mo.

Definately Scorsese in Taxi Driver, it's just so darkly disturbing, but yet funny at the same time. He's not a bad actor haha, he really pulled off the strange and deliriously insane... BQ: It's got to be The Godfather Part II

Vince Vaughn's "cameo" in Anchorman...dunno if I'd consider that a cameo. Okay make that his cameo in Zoolander. Maybe I'll say that all the "Frat Pack" cameo's are gems!
And Bill Murray's cameo in Zombieland!

Wow, great question, there are literally dozens I can think of, but one of my personal favourites has got to be Will Ferrell in The Wedding Crashers. Seriously they built up his character so well, that even before he was introduced or exposed, I already found his character funny. Then his demenor and and attitude was hilarious, he was a "pioneer" lol

Albert Hitchcock in every single signature walk-on in all his own movies. Stephen King as well.
Other favorites.
Bill Murray in both his death scene in Zombieland, and as the Steve Matin's obnoxious customer in Little Shop of Horrors.
