The only place in which enhanced driver's licenses are used is the Canadian/US border. It allows you to scan your license in a machine just in front of the border agent's post such that they doesn't have to take your passport and scan it. It's embedded with a number which allows it to be tracked similiar to a passport. It doesn't enable them to track you any easier than before. All passports are scanned at the border. The only difference is that an EDL can be scanned without physcially waiting for a border agent to scan it.

Personally, if you are going to cross the border that often, just get a NEXUS pass. Most major crossings have a NEXUS lane and using the NEXUS pass means that you don't even have to stop at the border post and so the line moves much faster. Some airports also have NEXUS lines (even though you still need a passport to get on an international flight).

I saw that on YouTube they are being made mandetory in NYS. Obama wants us all injected with a computer chip for health reasons. The chip can track you besides having all your personal information, and financial info made available to the government.
