How long does a sprained finger take to heal?
I am not completely sure if either my pinky finger is strained or sprained but I do feel a lot of pain when trying to move it. There doesn't seem to be any edema (swelling) either. Can someone tell me how long it would take to heal and how I should keep my finger rested, for example, should I bandage and immobilize it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks for reading.

Honestly, a sprained finger is basically a toughness injury. You can still do almost anything you want as long as you can tolerate the pain. An average finger sprain will stop hurting in about a week to a week and a half. I recommend tapping your pinky finger to your ring finger using athletic tape. This reduces the strain a lot. Just push your two fingers together and wrap completely around both fingers.

I jammed mines close to three months ago it was swollen at first I also iced it and kept it on a splint for a while on and off ,I can pretty much do anything but if it's touched wrong on moved a certain way the pain is very intense it looks bent at all times I haven't seen a doctor about it but it seems to be taking a while to heal I asked someone else who had the same issue and was told it could take 6-8 months or even a year to heal the pain is less intense then it originally was but it still aches a lot when I bend it or scretch it while laying it completely flat ..any suggestions? My fear is it maybe fractured I'm considering seeing a doc cause it should have been a lot better by now !
