Why is China allowing the USA to come into the Asia Pacific area?
It seems that the USA is starting to encroach, even more so than usual, into the area of the Asian Pacific (Australia, Philippines, Vietnam, etc.) Why is China allowing this? Why don't they say to the USA "Look, the Asian Pacific area is not your backyard. It's ours. And we don't want you there, much less in the South China Sea. So get out. Now!"

To get to your question, first of all the Asian pacific area do not belong to any particular countries, just because China is near the Asian pacific vast coast it surely belong to China? These area are the Asean countries that comprise them which I think you already enumerated(Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand,China, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia,Cambodia etc). Sad to say Australia is not included in the Asian pacific scope, it is way down under. That is why in WW2 the Japanese fleet is hesitant to invade much more to send troops down there because it is too far to send troops and reinforcement. A few Japanese did some how reach Australia but that was in the later part of 1944.
The US is already been a part of almost all countries in Southeast Asia, their biggest dominance was in the Vietnam conflict if you have seen or watch the Vietnam war from start to finish. It is the longest war in the history of Southeast Asia. Another example is the history of the Philippines which was colonized by the Americans after they defeated Spain in the battle of Manila Bay. The Americans stayed in the Philippines for 50 years. So now you are telling us that the US is starting to encroach in Southeast Asia? Hello....are you with us? Long before you or me probably been born the US is already in Southeast Asia and in the Asia pacific region. Not even China can tell the US on what to do or think in Southeast Asia. The US is still the police man of the world, with the most biggest number of sophisticated weapons and aircraft carriers you can imagine. China is not the policeman of Southeast Asia, so I do not think China would dare to tell the US to back off or else what? China is not in the mood to engage the US on a war footing. China is developing and in the edge of expansion and economic growth. No leader would be stupid enough to halt or stop this would you if you are the leader of China to start a war now? I do not think so.
China and the United States have a mutual understand when it comes to Southeast Asia and the pacific region. No two giants would collide with each other on a stupid issue, would you? The world is such a big place why not share it with everybody. This is my motto, the world do not belong to just one person, we all have to share its potential or else we all die killing each other. Live and let's live a famous line dedicated for us to live in harmony with one another.

The reason for the US' increased presence in Asia is that they recognise that Asia is now arguably the most vital area in the world, where most production takes place and is increasing power. The US' sees that their traditional areas of Europe and Middle East are becoming irrelevant and want to ensure that they are best placed in the future. America has many allies in Asia Pacific (most notably Australia, in which a new naval base has just been approved by the Australian government), and feels that increased presence there is important to maintain good relations with the region.
As for the question of China - there is nothing too fragile between the US and China, regardless of their differences on issues such as human rights, North Korea and Syria, there is no way that China would threaten the United States.

When I read this question I wanted to go to the answers and write what I thought. After I read WNL and Delive I knew nobody could do this question any better, so I am now telling you that these two answers are the best you will get. Sometimes maybe I get long winded but I still feel I leave things out. These two answers say everything I could think of and maybe more. My only complaint is Yahoo does not have a system where two answers can win. In one sentence your answer would be, The CCP allows the US to patrol the Pacific because we are the US. We try to give to others as much as we take.
To WNL and Delive...thank you for a very good answer.

SE asia is NOT part of china's seas, and besides, the USA is china's biggest trading partner. if china makes usa mad, war could happen, and that's not good for either country, nor for the world

Dear Ungrateful One:
In answer to your question....................
Read my name. Read it carefully. Read it again until it sinks in a bit.
Then open your mind, that is... if you still have one. ( And... I PRAY you do!)
Next:
Take time to study some history about WW2 and why the USA came to help China and what they accomplished together in only a few years of monumental mutual sacrifice.
Try these keywords: Nanking Massacre, AVG, CACW, Madame Chiang, South China and Philippine Sea Battles, Kamikaze, Hiroshima......
Make an effort to ask your CCP-controlled media to explain it ALL somehow, and try to compare the results. Are there any discrepencies?
And, if you still can't find the real truth, then find it for yourself by following your own heart for as long as it takes.
Finally...
I suggest that you take time to thank an American... in rememberance of those Americans who died to give you what little freedom you enjoy today, despite the CCP's subsequent 60 year effort to deny it to you.
If you can somehow summon enough pride in yourself for being a decent person such that it forces you to accomplish all that, then you can get back to me on the subject, and hopefully you'll stop asking such inane questions, and you will have matured as a human being.
@deliver_ance - APPLAUSE! ..... Agreed... What kind of idiot would want to pay to hire corrupt PRC policemen to protect them?
Don't get me wrong here... We never left because we have always maintained the hope that China WILL succeed in following our tiring old footsteps. However, if they can't stop themselves from attacking an old gentleman, then the ghosts of millions of Chinese and American lives (YOUR ancestors and MINE) are sure to rise against them. If so, then I respect those who will die for the good and honorable cause........... yet again.

we may allow foreign oil companies(Statoil, Halliburton,Chevron,Shell....)to establish companies in China, that only means we need their expertise on oil and know how, it doesn't mean they can get our oil. In mean time, those giant companies also brought us a lot of jobs. So thank you! lol....
Where are the jobs in USA? Maybe one can ask Obama? i heard someone said today ''bad change, no hope.'' lol...
I think it's good China put her focus on the land where humans live, not on ocean where only sharks fin soup comes from.
And no matter what US does now, DC has to print money first. But China has enough reserve to do ANYTHING.

the americans are forcing their way in. China doesnt allow it. if China retaliates, then the u.s is likely to forment a colour revolution in hong kong or taiwan. the u.s also regularly uses terorism in xing jiang, and tibet to threaten China. the u.s regime also controls many important shipping lanes and will block those if China does not cooperate with the u.s's imperialist scheme

who can complaint about the USA for her expansion of her territories all the way to the East ?
Ask WNL and sailor8 if they are unhappy with the USA's expansion and aggression to the Far East. Now, people here should have learned one more word [ Hypocrite ].
