Who do you think will be successful in their debut in the US- 2ne1 or SNSD?
I may be biased because I'm a blackjack, but I think that 2ne1 has a better chance. More of their members speak english than SNSD and their style is more suited to the musical taste of the US currently. I don't think SNSD will make it super big just because there are 9 members and obviously as with anywhere else in the world some people in America will just hate on them for no reason and won't accept them. Also will all the popular american artists right now, not one of them made it big by just being cute. I think if SNSD wants to get attention in America they'll have to amplify their sexiness. Overall I think 2ne1 has a much better chance, and being connected with will.i.am was just the icing on the cake. what do you think?

lol at the answer that said "The only kpop idols who can be successful in US are 2ne1, Big Bang, Wonder Girls and Jay Park." lol Wonder Gilrs? I get the 2NE1, Big Bang and Jay Park, but why Wondergirls? in concept and artistically they are basically the same as SNSD only wtih 4 less members and not as pretty -thumbs down comming in 3, 2, 1- lol just saying.. If you're say SNSD can't do it, then Wondergirls can't either by your logic. But imo SNSD have bigger chances than Wondergirls. They are more eye-catching. That's IF they make good songs. The Boys wasn't hit material and it wasn't good. To me it wasn't terrible but it wasn't good enough to be a title song with a mv, and less to be an american debut. They need great songS if they wanna make it (yeah, "songSSSS", nobody gets popular with one song except for Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Rebecca Black and a few others, people ussually works for years to get recognition, especially foreigners. Look at Shakira, she worked for years before she got her name known) and songs that fit with the noth american market and then why not? Same for Wondergirls. Jay Park could if he worked hard because he has the concept and the voice to do it. Big Bang could if they tried looking more masculine -I said "looking", I know they ARE masculine- than they do (I know among k-pop groups they are one of the more masculine looking but they aren't according to western standars, especially GD. And if they do something like Fantastic Baby's MV they will probably not make it, and people would think they are homosexual because that's what america thinks, "if a man doesn't look masculine is gay". Not that it's bad, but I think that's not the the image they would like to have and not a convenient image for a boyband (in america). And especially because they didn't look as hot as they actually are. I wouldn't tap that, and I ussually find all of them realllly hot, like, realllly hot, but not in their las 3 mv)
Back to the question I think 2NE1 have better chances, their looks, their voices, their songs all fits better to the american market. And the fact that you can tell the four of them and their voices apart easier than with other k-pop groups is sort of pro too. And having will.i.am wanting to make them famous. He wants it, you know how many artists do anything to work with him? but he looked for working with 2NE1 and said his plan is "to make them big all over the world" not only work with them, make them big. And I was scared, but after hearing the preview of the song, that's a hit. I think they have good chances. I wanna dance to their song in clubs already!

I'm a SONE and I think 2ne1 does have a better chance. I don't really like 2ne1 but I liked their songs go away and ugly. So yea, SNSD The Boys was alright wasn't so great like their other songs. I would like to blame it on Teddy Riley. You may not know if SNSD members actually do know more english than you thought they would. They just don't want to talk because it may ruin their image or say something wrong. Yes, people will eventually hate them for no reason and might as well don't accept them. But their choreography is interesting.
2ne1 does suit american taste I think, me, an american, have no american taste. I do think 2ne1 will be more well known over the U.S. than SNSD.

SNSD would be popular only with the people that were already kpop fans and knew about them. I don't think that a person that has never heard kpop in his life would be completely in love with SNSD. But maybe that's just me.
While SNSD rocks the cute look that is popular in Asia, that wouldn't work in the U.S, but 2NE1 are fierce and edgy, so I think they'd be more suited to go to America. In 2NE1 there are also less members, and they're easy to tell apart, which is a plus.

2NE1. They're backed up.
They will transition to American music easily.
SNSD....will not. I like the members and all, don't get me wrong, but their music and image is something that America probably won't ever have. When have you seen innocence and cuteness in the American entertainment industry? People will most likely think that SNSD is full of plastics, ect, therefore, gain more antis.
@Joke R: ƒuck off. What are you 5? The term GAY is a hate word. I guess you were not informed. But then again, I don't expect much coming from someone ghetto like you, hence why you typed "Yo i CMe HeRe 2 Gt AnSrZ sO dAtS wOt i XpCt" in your "about me" section. Ahaha. Ghetto.
@Yoon: I sometimes want to say hi to you but you disappear. Damn it. xD
@Yoon: ♥ We should talk. Seriously. Haha.
Then how do you make friends even in real life? Since everyone is a "stranger." Haah

SNSD's song didn't even make any sense. There's little chance it'll become big.
2NE1 on the other hand with Will.i.am would have a better chance- more foreign fans, good english speakers (SNSD accent... urgh) and Will.i.am helping.
2NE1 will just blow up over in the US.

Honestly they both have a pretty slim chance, but between the 2 I'd put my money on 2ne1. But seriously anyone who ever wants to be relevant in the US needs to speak English fluently with the smallest trace of an accent they can manage, that is the sad truth unless you have a funky islander accent or a sexy european accent (cause most Americans don't find asian accents sexy). 2ne1 has a more american-friendly image and sound. Plus SNSD's english single isn't gonna impress anyone over here that song makes little to no sense in English (the verses have nothing to do with the chorus or the bridge and it just sounds awkward).

I don't know, because 2NE1 hasn't made their debut at us while SNSD are quite successful over there with the first appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman and Live! With Kelly, the two talk show that quite popular there.
I think, 2NE1 would be a success in the U.S. because of 2NE1's music genre more suitable to the favorite of U.S. people in general who really like to Hip Hop or R & B, and moreover they took Will I Am in making his latest album.
As we know that William is the life of the BEP are often scored hits in the U.S.

You never know. Only time will prove anything.
And if 2NE1 is connected with Will.I.am , SNSD signed a contract with Interscope,(The company that have Eminem,50 cents,LMFAO,Far East Movement and Lady Gag in)
@Indestructible the asker used Will.I.Am in her arguement so I brought in interscope. It doesn't mean anything of course. And to be honest with you, I don't expect either 2NE1 nor SNSD to make it big yet. Maybe in the future but they have a very tiny chance here.
@kyuhyun(LOL) hii!
My mom told me not to talk to strangers. Sorry, dude
haha. You got a point...but the internet world is a scary place

I'm not sure there are reasons that they might get in in:
2NE1
-Their music is like American music.
SNSD:
-I see them more in the U.S (I'm a U.S citizen) Like on T.V or in the news.
-They seem more, Umm... Professional??
Overall I think both of them have a chance.

I absolutely love SNSD, but I wouldn't think they'd make it in the U.S. Maybe 2NE1 has a better chance, but since they are k-pop too I'd say their chances are slim. SNSD still has quite a lot of fans there, though.
