Have you seen the cocoa pops ad on TV where they say...?

...that it's the only cereal that turns your milk into chocolate milk?

WHO is that aimed at? As a parent, that really does not make me want to rush out to the store and buy it! Haha.

And there's another ad for McDonalds where they say McDonalds is the place where you can play with your food... um, really? I think that depends on whether your parents say you can play with your food, doesn't it?

Am I the only one who thinks it's kind of weird that they make ads clearly aimed at children (and that even are *unappealing* to adults) when it's the adults who end up spending the money?

Update:

Haha, actually superguy, my kids have never shown an interest in food advertised on TV. Generally, neither of them shows an interest in anything on TV.

Well to know that Cocoa Puffs make my milk into chocolate milk makes *me* want to run out and get some.... but I'm also almost 7 months pregnant :)

Most of TV advertising (especially food) is aimed towards kids. The kids bug their parents to buy them the foods on TV. The parents buy them to make the kids happy. Sad but true.

My kids can try the "Ooooo!! I want that!" with me, but I end up saying "Ooooo! No way!", lol. Well on some things I say yes, but most things like that it's probably going to be no. I also have to talk to the kids about the nutritional values of things, so commercials like these are good learning tools in our home :)

** Superguy.... "not all children are retarded like yours"?! Seriously? RUDE.

.Umm They Do That Becausee They Know That If The Child See It , It Would Excite Them And The Child Would Constanly Bug The Parent Over And Over Untill They Buy It For Them

Makes me glad that we don't have a satellite or cable or even an antenna. No exposure to those stupid adds. I'm so glad my toddler son isn't bombarded with those ads. Marketing junk food to kids is ridiculous and in my opinion should be illegal.

The children are the ones who eat there.

Not all children are retarded like yours, they actually care about the content of advertising and the food they eat.
