What exactly, even vaguely is the point of blogs? Other than cyber socializing and sharing opinions?
In a writers magazine came across a whole section on writing successful blogs. Do bloggers get paid for this? Is it just a form of vanity? An expression of loneliness? Reaching out for something? To have one's voice heard, acknowledged? An frisson of pleasure to share and shape opinion in the great debates of our age? And why this emphasis on expanding an audience? Someone please bring this relic up to speed. Thanks

Some use blogs a sort of diary. There are plenty of accounts that just go on about peoples day in a very vague way. There are also entertainment blogs. You know, ones where people talk about a show, or item, or person they really like. Companies and reviewers use them. It goes on like that. No, they don't get paid by the way. Blogs can pretty much be anything, and a lot people use it so they don't actually have to have there own website and pay money.
