Why do marines always attack army? never made any sense to me that marines think they are these mega badasses?

marines always say that "Navy seals recruit out of marines" and "army has nothing on marines" first off id like to say Navy seals DO NOT recruit anyone who had prior military experiance due to such a high demand of people 'wanting' to join. secoundly marines are not better than army, army has more options (Infantry(as a start), rangers, green berets, Delta(if you do good in rangers and green berets and have time in special forces)) what does marines have, correct me if i am wrong but MARSOC, recon, and regular marine infantry. and the battle between marine recon and rangers is stupid. or even a regular marine grunt compared to a ranger is stupid. when marines train there regular infantry to be airborne qualified please talk to me. or better yet when marine recon is considered to be part of SOCOM then make a valid arguement. and it is not dont worry. ok thats my rant. i want to state i have the UTMOST respect for all people in the military. it just bottles me down to my core when some 8 year old aspiring to be a marine makes up blatant lies to get others to join or defend his own military/life choices.

Bullshit. I've never heard a Marine say that. There were some Force Recon guys that have gone through BUD's for joint training but they weren't trying to become SEALS- it was cross training with the SEALS.

The reason why Force Recon isn't part of SOCOM is because the USMC MAGTF needs a unit that can perform special operations for USMC only. If they were part of SOCOM, they will fall under SOCOM first and USMC second. It's not because they are inferior. For a branch that get shafted on budget more than other branches, it does pretty good for itself.

Army has a lot more money to send everyone, to include their ROTC, to airborne school. The Army is also vastly larger than the Marine Corp, hence more options to do something. I worked with a conractor once who served first in the Army and then the Marine Corp, in both infantries. He said in the Army it is 'what can I get' and in the Marine Corp it is 'Do more with less'..again this is due to budgets...I have served with all branches and operating forces except SEALs, and have always respected the sister services. The best people to talk to I think, is like the gentlemen I mentioned before, guys who served in both. Remember that each service also has different missions in theory. And I am sure sure you have heard guys say 'When the flag goes up the President wants to know where the Airborne is..where the Marines are...nope, sorry guys, he actually wants to know where the carrier group is' At the end of the day we re all fighting on the same team, but there is never anything wrong with a little rivalry.

Plus Force Recon/MARSOC is part of SOCOM

Navy SEALs do not recruit from the Marine Corps. A marine who says this probably isn't a marine.

There is no battle between Marine Recon and Rangers, they are entirely different with very different missions.

Apparently your respect for people in the military ends just short of the Marine Corps. The Marines have a long history of winning battles. The first thing that will happen to a marine who thinks he is a badass is he will be cut down a notch, we fight as a team, not as individuals.

I wouldn't worry about 8 year-olds if I were you. Many boys, mostly young adolescents, will want to become a marine at one time in their lives. This desire fades when they become older and begin to realize that there is work in earning the title of Marine.

If you study Marine Corps history, you will find that it is rarely a marine who praises the Marine Corps for its exceptional accomplishments. Most often, you will find Army commanders, Naval commanders, and other outsiders who laud the Marine Corps for its accomplishments.

Having served in both the Army and the Marines, I can say there is a distinct difference in discipline, attitude, morale, and training. A Military Channel program about the SEALS states that the intensity goes up 10 times when training in water. That is probably an exaggeration but it is much more difficult. The Marines don't have tougher training just so they can say they have tougher training, they have it because it is necessary to do the job.

Last, the Marine Corps has a much wider range of MOS fields than the Army because they offer most of the jobs the Army offers and add amphibious and aviation jobs the Army doesn't have.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

It's because they are brainwashed into thinking they are God's gift to the military when in fact they aren't. I was in the 82nd Airborne infantry for 4 years and I had troopers under me that were 10 times more disciplined and in shape than any Marine I've ever come across.

it's just their mentality. they're told that they're the best in bootcamp and it gets burnt in their heads. I find it alittle ridiculous because your right. they shouldn't always put down the army. I used to think the same bias way and believ they werethe beat but when time came to enlist I looked at both branches and decided that the army has better options. it's like when you buy a pair of shoes. marines are a pair of nikes, everyone likes them because they're nikes even if they're uncomfortable and don't last long. they're just a fancy label. the army is like a pair of chuck taylors, they're badass but most people don't realize because everybody likes the Nike symbol.

marines are megabadasses. but you know, each branch has their own group of mega badasses. army delta and rangers, seals.. etc. hahaha. so, everyone's a mega badass. but the marines have the hardest basic training/boot camp.

It's the navy army thing. It you didn't know, the U.S. Marines are part of the U.S. Navy. The army navy colleges have been bashing each other since they existed.

    To quote Truman:

"The Marine Corps...have a propaganda machine that is almost equal to Stalin's."
