In Judaism where the Messiah came, you mean to tell me he couldn't agree with not one sect?

Not a Scribe, Pharisee, Sadducee, Doctor or Lawyer, a Nazarene, a Priest or devout person, not even one Elder?

Neither could they agree with him?

>

Luke 11:52

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge

Matthew 5:20

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

( He disagrees with them )

Luke 11:45

Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.

Matthew 22:23

The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection

Matthew 21:15

And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased

Mark 14:43

And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

( They disagree with him )

Everyone one them professed that they were righteous and was playing by the book.

What make you think today that he agrees with your sect?

If he came today as he did in that day would be pleased with any of you?

Update:

@ Art, and when he does it want be what you expect, guaranteed.......Not matter if you believe in NT or not. OT says the same things as do the NT and according to it, he's come. you don't understand the OT and that's why you don't understand the NT.

Update 2:

@ Earth, whasta matter with you? all religions are SECTS, either true or false.....

Did it ever occur to you that the authors of the Christian canon had a rather decided agenda in their depictions of influential Jews?

Knowledgeable Jews would have disagreed with the strange things Christianity did with Jewish sacred texts. Just as we still do today. Christianity has to rely on dodgy translations, invented words, altered verb tenses, creative grammar and a general refusal to read in context to even begin to try to sledgehammer their pagan (yes, pagan) salvation theology into texts which really doesn't support such readings.

Christianity's solution to this dilemma was to make up stories about influential and knowledgeable Jews and depict them as buffoons.

You're free to fall for that if you want. I know far too much about the history, texts and theologies to do so myself.

In Judaism the Mashiach has yet to come- so since he has not yet come, he couldn't agree or diagree with anyone could he?

As for your quotes- really, what the point of quoting Christian scriptures to Jews who don't believe they have any vaidity at all

edit: Ignore DavidS lies about Chabad- they do NOT state that the R' Schneerson zs"l was the messiah- a tiny group within Chabad do and they do NOT reflect the mainstream view of Lubavitch. However, in an attempt to justify the apostasy of th e"messianic jews", they love to try andspread this lie in the hopes of jsutifying their own apostasy. On top of that, those in Yechi that see R' Schneerson zs"l as the messiah do NOT deify him, do not claim he is the son of G-d, do not claim he is part of G-d or in anyway try to claim he is in partnership with G-d. In short- they have a mistaken assumption as to whom the messiah is, but have not gone beyond that. Yet again, this is not something the "messianic jews" mention as it takes away the impact of their atatcks on the Lubavitch movement

There are two sects in/of Judaism which have accepted "the" Messiah has come. Do not know what it is you are arguing against? Lots of people (Jews esp) accepted Jesus as Messiah, That's tons of them, and that itself became an entire sect complete with many who had been Pharisee's, Priests, Sadducee's (see Nicodemus) etc. In millennium past it was called Christianity, today its followers are more commonly called Messianics and/or (non-Protestant) Nazarenes.

In Lubavitcher Judaism, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, a Rabbi, is/was often accepted as Messiah. That is still a totally separate sect of Judaism, recognised today.

For a start the Gospel does not cover everything about him. It tells a story! He would go into the synagogue every Sabbath and teach. I am sure he spent his youth learning in the synagogue. He kept all the feast. You could find him keeping them if you know what they are and look for them. In fact his ministry was measured by three Passovers. The problem is most Christians don't know anything about the feast because the either never read the Torah or they fell asleep reading Leviticus. They don't put it together. He didn't come to be part of a sect as you call them and they very well could be called such. He came to help people see that the walls they built around themselves kept others out and themselves locked in. He made his boast about the father. None of the sects matched up to what the father wanted them to be. That didn't mean there were not good Jews trying to do the fathers will. He found 12 whom he thought might have a chance and thousands more shortly followed. When he road into Jerusalem on the donkey multitudes follow him. As they did when he preached and he had to feed them with the loaves and fishes. None of the sects of Judaism or Christianity are right today. There are multitudes in them that are trying to follow the creator.

answer: Please try and get this. WE DO NOT USE THE CHRISTIAN NEW TESTAMENT

Nothing in the NT is relevant to Jews.

Jesus was NOT the Jewish Messiah. We are waiting for THE Jewish Messiah

Reasons Jesus was NOT the Jewish Messiah:

Divine birth/divinity (the Jewish Messiah will NOT be divine. He will be human.) G-d cannot become human: Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 44:6, Hosea 11:9, Ezekiel 28:2, Numbers 23:19

Performing Miracles – the Jewish Messiah will NOT perform miracles but will accomplish them

Taking on the sins of others: no one can take on the sins of others: Deuteronomy 24:16, Exodus 32:30-35, Ezekiel 18:1-4, 20-24; 26-27

Breaking the Sabbath – the Jewish Messiah will be observant.

Sacrificed/Rising from the dead: G-d rejects human sacrifice and blood sacrifice is NOT an absolute requirement for the absolution of sin – Deuteronomy 12:30-31, Jeremiah 19:4-6, Psalm 106:37-38, Ezekiel 16:20, Leviticus 5:11-13, Jonah 3:10, Leviticus 17, Leviticus 5:11-13, Numbers 16:47, Numbers 31:50, Isaiah 6:6-7, Jeremiah 7:22-23, Psalm 51:16-17. There will be no rising from the dead until the Messianic Age. The Jewish Messiah won’t be a sacrifice that has to rise from the dead.

Prophecies Unfilled – the Jewish Messiah will accomplish ALL the prophecies in one lifetime.

The Jewish Messiah cannot trace his lineage through Jehoiakim, Jeconiah, or Shealtiel, because this royal line was cursed (I Chronicles 3:15-17, Jeremiah 22:18, 30). But according to Matthew 1:11-12 and Luke 3:27, Jesus was a descendant of Shealtiel

Communion – the ‘last supper’ – No Jew would ever call upon followers and fellow Jews to even symbolically consume blood and flesh. (Leviticus 17)

Jesus is worshiped – the eternal covenant between G-d and Jews is that Jews will worship G-d and only G-d and G-d does not become a man. Numbers 23:19, Hosea 11:9, 1 Samuel 15:29, Job 9:32-33, Ezekiel 28:9, Hosea 4:15, Malachi 3:6

    * The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness (Isaiah 51:11)

    * He will be a messenger of peace (Isaiah 52:7)

    * Nations will end up recognizing the wrongs they did to Israel (Isaiah 52:13-53:5)

    * The peoples of the world will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance (Zechariah 8:23)

    * The ruined cities of Israel will be restored (Ezekiel 16:55)

    * Weapons of war will be destroyed (Ezekiel 39:9)

    * The Temple will be rebuilt (Ezekiel 40) resuming many of the suspended mitzvot

    * He will then perfect the entire world to serve God together (Zephaniah 3:9)

    * Jews will know the Torah without Study (Jeremiah 31:33)

    * He will give you all the desires of your heart (Psalms 37:4)

    * He will take the barren land and make it abundant and fruitful (Isaiah 51:3, Amos 9:13-15, Ezekiel 36:29-30, Isaiah 11:6-9).

Source(s): Do try again - it is ARAVAH We don't have the OT either, we have the ORIGINAL, the Tanakh and there is nothing about Jesus in it. btw: I was a Christian and understand your ridiculous claims perfectly well It is YOU who lack understanding about Judaism, Jews, Christianity, Christians and what G-d actually taught about the Messiah. Check out above, YOU might actually learn something instead of attempting to lecture US on OUR sacred text and revealing your lack of knowledge

Remember, the regular people in Israel LOVED Him. It was the religious leaders who rejected Him. This is also what happened to the past prophets in Israel as well.

The vast majority of Jewish prophets were rejected by Israel when they first arrived on the scene. (See 2 Chronicles 36:16) “But they mocked God's messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the Lord was aroused against his people and there was no remedy.”

So the rejection of Jesus fits in perfect with our history.

Moses was rejected and left the Israelites (Exodus 2:14). He returned years later, was accepted and delivered them.

    Jeremiah was rejected (Jer 1:17-19)

Zechariah was stoned in the porch of the Temple by order of King Joash, because the Prophet had denounced the people for their unfaithfulness (2 Chrn 24:20-22)

Deveraim (Deuteronomy) tells us Israel rejected God Himself. (Deut 32:15)

The list could go on and on....

Also - Tenach tells us (in a Messianic passage the even the ancient rabbis looked at as messianic) - in Isaiah chapter 53:1 that "Who has believed our report?" (Isaiah says that most will not believe.)

Most have no idea Tenach tells us.... Messiah had two roles to fulfill.

    1) A priestly role and 2) a Kingly role. (Psalm 110:4 tells us the Messiah King will also be a priest). And what is the function of a Jewish priest? To make atonement with sacrifices.

Messiah came the first time to be the sacrifice for sins. (Isaiah 53:5)

He will also come to be a King. Zechariah specifically says He will split the Mt. of Olives in half. (Zechariah 14:4)

Also - Tenach tells us the Jewish people will not be following God until the latter (end) days.

"Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days." (Hosea 3:5)

They will one day see Jesus (Yeshua) and accept Him - as the Jewish Bible clearly states...

“They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.” (Zechariah 12:10)

Jesus' targets were typically the Pharisees and Sadducees. Christianity is not a sect. It is the truth of God. Sects are of men.

Yes, with his born again Christians.

Mat 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Jesus couldnt agree with any one of these because all of them were corrupt and living for personal gain. just because the number of sects were numerous doesn't mean one has to be agreed with. chrsitianity is a lifestyle founded on everything that Jesus taught. so of course he agrees with it. to see jesus's teachings, see matthew 22;34-40.

for the definition of love, see 1 corinthians 13.

Well... That is Paul's version of events.

But, Jesus' original followers, the Nazarenes, led by his brother James got along quite well with the Pharisees. And both the Pharisees and Jesus original followers rejected Paul and his version of the Gospels as heresy.

Heck. even the author of Revelations condemned Paul.

Revelation is essentially an anti-Christian polemic. That is, it was written by an expatriate follower of Jesus who wanted the movement to remain within an entirely Jewish context, as opposed to the “Christianity” just then being invented by St. Paul, who welcomed uncircumcised and trayf-eating Gentiles into the sect. At a time when no one quite called himself “Christian,” in the modern sense, John is prophesying what would happen if people did. That’s the forward-looking worry in the book. “In retrospect, we can see that John stood on the cusp of an enormous change—one that eventually would transform the entire movement from a Jewish messianic sect into ‘Christianity,’ a new religion flooded with Gentiles,” Pagels writes. “But since this had not yet happened—not, at least, among the groups John addressed in Asia Minor—he took his stand as a Jewish prophet charged to keep God’s people holy, unpolluted by Roman culture. So, John says, Jesus twice warns his followers in Asia Minor to beware of ‘blasphemers’ among them, ‘who say they are Jews, and are not.’ They are, he says, a ‘synagogue of Satan.’ ” Balaam and Jezebel, named as satanic prophets in Revelation, are, in this view, caricatures of “Pauline” Christians, who blithely violated Jewish food and sexual laws while still claiming to be followers of the good rabbi Yeshua. Jezebel, in particular—the name that John assigns her is that of an infamous Canaanite queen, but she’s seen preaching in the nearby town of Thyatira—suggests the women evangelists who were central to Paul’s version of the movement and anathema to a pious Jew like John. She is the original shiksa goddess. (“When John accuses ‘Balaam’ and ‘Jezebel’ of inducing people to ‘eat food sacrificed to idols and practice fornication,’ he might have in mind anything from tolerating people who engage in incest to Jews who become sexually involved with Gentiles or, worse, who marry them,” Pagels notes.) The scarlet whores and mad beasts in Revelation are the Gentile followers of Paul—and so, in a neat irony, the spiritual ancestors of today’s Protestant evangelicals.
