Has Jehovah's Witnesses flawed history, damaged "God's Credibility" to many persons, active, or otherwise?
With a less than stellar track record of proven false prophesies, changing doctrines, pedophile victim payouts, vile shunning techniques, repressive teachings, loss of life, greed in real-estate, disfellowshipping for reasons not found in the Bible, a false Bible translation, and so many other flaws, is it any wonder that many of the members that leave this sect become "men against faith"?
Is God's Credibility damaged by this group, especially when they have laid claim to having the ONLY direct "Channel" to God upon the face of the earth?
Is it true that Joseph Franklin Rutherford will be ruling next to Jesus over these people?
That is a damage to God's credibility in itself!
I was a member of the Mormon sect, the Lutheran, Baptist, and Jehovah's Witnesses for 40 years...this question is direct towards them because the collateral damage is incredible, and their leaders have dominated them with such control and fear, that they truly BELIEVE Godis with this sect, when it is not.
I belong to NO organized church now, nor will I ever again. I am a believer only in Jesus Christ as my savior.
That is why I asked this question...the churches are ALL damaging God's credibility among the unsaved.
I am a practicing Christian.
Ruthie...Joseph F. Rutherford was a terrible man, a drunk, a womanizer, a smiter, and a bully.
There is proof of these things, but you are not "Allowed" to Prove all things...your life s censored by the Watchtower.
Please escape.
Suzy, for the mere fact that you use Moses' name in the same sentence as Joe Rutherford, shows me your limited ability to exercise discernment.
If you believe Joe Rutherford will be sitting as a Judge or King with Jesus, you are indeed in spiritual trouble.
Well, Suzy, I guess there is one similarity between Moses, and Joe Rutherford, Moses took credit for bringing the the water to the people, ....and Joe took credit for bringing refreshments to the members of Bethel, in the form of illegal whisky from Canada, during the prohibition...sorry, I forgot.

my daughter in law as married to a jw in her first marriage and she was shunned even by her own husband because she was unable to believe the things they taught her. she tried but could never really believe them and so refused to be a hypocrite and pretend to believe. she was deeply wounded and badly hurt by these people. her own husband refused to eat with her or even sleep with her because of it. they ended up divorced and she had to move away from that town.
good news for my son though. he ended up with her and has had the sense to be slow and careful in leading her to Jesus. she was afraid of all religion as a result of those jw's and it has taken a collective effort and 5 years for our family to love her into the knowledge of the truth. now, she loves their church and shares Jesus with their children, but it was hard to get her there. she was nearly ruined by jw's.

How is that any different from every other Christian denomination?

So how is the Holy Spirit no a individual? Matthew 3:sixteen After being baptized Jesus immediately got here up from the water; and, seem! the heavens have been unfolded, and he observed descending like a dove God’s spirit coming upon him. tell every physique why did the holy spirit stumble upon Jesus contained in the form of a dove and not a individual? The holy spirit is the third individual in accordance to the trinity doctrine so why did it come contained in the form of a dove? Acts 2:4 and that all of them grew to become crammed with holy spirit and began to communicate with different tongues, basically by way of fact the spirit became granting them to make utterance. What empowered then disciples to communicate in tongues? a individual or Gods energetic rigidity?

I do not see how one person's discovered errors, or even many people's discovered errors
should effect the credibility of another person for whose genuine statements no errors are known.
(I don't mean what the Bible says God says; but what if anything God actually has said.)
Maybe you mean "belief in God" rather than "God's credibility".
Yes, whenever any religious person makes a mistake, there will be someone who will use that as evidence that God is an imaginary being. The only cure for that, that I am aware of, is more study than they would be willing to commit themselves to, in theology proper (not religion) and academic metaphysics (not spiritualism or theosophy).

Catholics ruined it for me. That and being forced into Seventh Day Adventism as a child and not being allowed to think 'outside' the box. I remember not being allowed to have anything to do with Harry Potter because it was an insult to God (Who is a wizard himself.) and would teach me to become a Satanist or some kind of Pagan. Not only that, but the things these people assume that their God commands are ridiculous. Pretty much extremely zealous Bible-thumping Catholics are what turned Christianity into a joke for me.

By all means tell me what human has not been flawed? Jesus Christ does not count as that was the reason for him coming to earth in the first place. You forget that even Moses gave himself the credit for providing water to the Israelites. You really don't want to go here. Can we start with Catholics? Need I say more?

I expect members that leave the sect tend to be the most hostile towards God because of it. I think most people just think JWs are a little nuts and ignore them for the most part and their attitude towards God is related to other issues.

To the best of my knowledge; the Jehovah's Witnesses have come a long way. Trials and tribulations but they learned through it. You know, Jehovah knows humans (all of us) as imperfect and as long as we work on our imperfections for the better of us and others; He will shine more knowledge on us and direct us more to become better in all ways. Less than perfect today but tomorrow we shall be closer to our goals of success with the help of God. There is no ignoring of family members. Families are there for love and support. In fact, do you all know that there are Jehovah's Witnesses today that don't even know about shunning? See, God is shining upon them because they strive to be better people FOR Jehovah Jesus God. Defend Jesus for the sake of the world.

Jesus said by their fruits you would recognize his True followers today. Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religious group that have succeeded in establishing the original christianity as described for us in the bible, on the earth today.
Don't believe everything you read. Just as Jesus was slandered back in his day, being called a drunk and the leader of the demons. So today much slander and persecution has been said against Jehovah's Witnesses today. If you are truly concerned you should ask them personally if these things you say against them are true.

God's credibility cannot be flawed by anyone stupid enough to believe in anyone acting "as gods" claiming the knowledge of good and evil.

Well the various and sundry brands of in-fighting Christians certainly help, but the real culprit is a proper education.
