Christians, are our heroes of the faith different from God's?

We esteem successful "Christian" sportsmen and women, we applaud those "Christians" in various forms of the performing arts yet we ignore missionaries who are laying down their lives taking the name of Christ where He is not yet named, we think that they are wasting their lives, why do you think this is?

    God doesnt have any heroes..........>

I understand what you are saying and you are correct. We tend to honor people like a Tim Tebow or Kurt Warner who are famous and unashamed and sometimes we forget the missionaries and those that are martyred for their convictions and for the name of Christ.......>

You sound very bitter approximately your fellow Christians. What got here approximately i ask your self... Salvation is a loose present. however the question is do you go with to be as guy or woman who only somewhat have been given off from the fireplace or do you go with God to assert to you "properly executed my good and dedicated servant."? The Apostles are no longer fools, if that they had no longer preached the Gospel then, it would not be around at present and located everywhere interior the international! They have been obedient to the calling on their existence. yet that comparable calling might no longer be on my existence or your existence. perchance you're to evangelise on your loved ones? each and each guy or woman would be in charge to God sooner or later, you are able to no longer help what the subsequent guy or woman is doing. we are requested to artwork out our very own salvation with worry and trembling. And we won't assume this or that Christian can no longer get their rewards because of the fact Jesus taught the myth of the staff interior the winery, some have been reported as on the beginning up of the day jointly as others have been reported as on the very end of the day yet all have been given a similar wages.

Some years ago I was introduced to a novel idea which was being pursued among a group of Christians, which was to target prominent figures and pray for their salvation, purely because their conversion would make such headline news. Not a bad idea at all, as God can and does use such people and such conversions within His scheme of things. However, to describe such people as heroes of the faith would not normally be appropriate. We do not know who the true heroes in God's eyes are going to be, but we can guess that in many cases they are people whom the world at last hasn't heard about: people who have laid down their lives either literally or metaphorically for the Kingdom. People such as those listed in Hebrews chapter 11, verse 38 of which says that the world was not worthy of them. Christians are far more likely to make that list when the world says ill of them than when the world speaks well of them. Let us be careful with our own assessment.

Our heros should be the same as God's! Mine are. I don't worship the idols that this world loves such as screen stars, football players, rich people, etc. The heros of faith are the ones I admire. In fact, I love to read testimonies of how a person came to know the Lord. I always weep when it happens.

It seems as though a lot of Christians are becoming very mainstream. It's so true that some of us don't give missionaries enough credit for sacrificing a comfortable life to possible be killed while ministering to others. We need to get our priorities straight!

We as Christians do not seek earthly rewards or acclamation, where moth eats and rust destroys. We lay up our treasure in heaven.

Those laying their life down for the gospel will have the reward and will be much greater than the minor accolades we give the Tim Teebows of the world

Having said that, a celebrity who stands up and is unashamed of the gospel, inspires us, Teebow for example has been showered with more derision than accolades....but he stands, or bows....for the gospel

    its ALL Good

I'm pretty sure god is a buddhist.

Edit: ...It seems I misread the question. I thought it was someone asking "Does God follow a different religion than christians?" Which I thought was insane. So I responded mockingly. Sorry 'bout that!
