Can you answer these riddles (#3)?

The first to answer all of the riddles correctly wins ten points.

1. A man lives in an apartment building with one hundred floors. On most days he can only ride the elevator to the twenty-fifth floor and has to climb the rest of the way up except on days where it is raining. Why?

2. A burglar with three bags of money comes across a bridge that can only hold the weight of him and two of his bags. The police are right behind the man and he can't leave behind any of the bags. How does he get all of the bags across the river USING THE BRIDGE?

3. A woman shoots her husband, holds him under water for five minutes, and then hangs him. Afterwards the two go out for a romantic dinner. How is this possible?

4. Steve wants to go home, but he can't because a man in a mask is waiting for him. However, the masked man does not want to harm Steve. "Home" is also not Steve's house. What is going on?

(We'll have a little fun with one everybody knows.):

5a. You have a chicken, a dog, and some seed. You also have a rowboat and you need to get everything across the river. However, the boat can only hold you and one of the other things you have. The dog also cannot be left alone with the chicken and the chicken cannot be left alone with the seed. How do you get everything across the river?

5b. Let's add a little bit of a twist. There is now a second river and you have acquired a fourth item: a chocolate covered steak. If the dog gets a hold of it and eats it, it will die for chocolate is poisonous to dogs. How do you get everything across the river safely if the dog cannot be left alone with the steak, if the dog cannot be left alone with the chicken, and if the chicken cannot be left alone with the seed? (The seed, however, has already gotten across somehow and you are on the side with the steak, the dog, and the chicken.)

1 he is very short and usually can't reach the top buttons. When it rains he has an umbrella though so he can use it to push the button.

#2 He carries two across, drops them, runs back and grabs the other one.

#3 She is a photographer and shoots a picture of him, develops it, and hangs it to dry.

#4 Steve is a baseball player on third base trying to reach "Home" plate

#5a You first take the chicken across. You go back and get the dog. Drop the dog off and then take the chicken back with you. Leave the chicken and get the seed. Take the seed across. Go back and get the chicken. Bring it across and you continue on your way.

#5b I'm leaning towards its impossible lol but mainly because i can't figure it out lol

Carrying an umbrella on rainy days would enable this short man to reach the higher buttons that he can't normally reach. (would suggest that either he changes his apartment or carries the umbrella every day)

Depends on the length of the bridge. He could throw one of the bags of money across to the other side and then retrieve it once having crossed over with the other two bags of money. Alternatively he could simply empty one of the bags of money and thus be able to carry the two full bags and the empty bag across.

If the woman photographs her husband and then develops the photo this is possible.

1st trip carry the chicken to other shore. Return and pick up seed. 2nd trip carry the seed to the other shore and pick up chicken and leave seed. Return and leave chicken and pick up dog. 3rd trip carry dog to other shore and return by oneself. 4th trip carry chicken to the other shore.

You don't mention that there may be a bridge and they all simply cross the river that way. Or they just wade across. There may be a rowboat that is large enough for them all to cross simultaneously.

I can't get the solution to this by the same criteria as used in 5a. You could remove the chocolate covering on the steak and at some point the dog will eat the steak safely and in that way all would get to the other side safely albeit that the steak is in the belly of the dog.

My brain is stupefied now. Worn out it is. Can't give reasonable thought to question 4. Looking forward to the answers.
