okay friends just tell me one thing.... why this happened , its related to EGGS 10 points forsure?
My husband told me he wants to eat boiled eggs in dinner.. i kept 6 eggs in a pot to boil, meanwhile made some noodles and we ate that. i turned off the pan after 15-20 minutes. and we went to sleep after that. What i find next morning is my kitchen smelling and the egg yolks turned black... i was scared and threw all of them.. the white part was not affected... why this happened?? becuase i didnt open the shell in night itself... or i kept them in water only??

When you turned off the burner under the water, the water itself was still very hot. It ended up overcooking the eggs.
For future notice, hard boiled eggs turn out best when they are in the boiling pan for thirteen minutes. After the 13 minute timer goes off, you should place the saucepan with the eggs in it under running cold water for several minutes. This will prevent the eggs from cooking further. When the eggs are cool to touch you can refrigerate them for the next day(s).

Even after turning the pan off, the eggs will continue and that is why they turned black overnight.
You should bring water to a boil, add the eggs, turn off the heat and let them sit for 20 minutes. Rinse eggs under cold water and refrigerate. I prefer to then wait 1 hour or so before I eat the eggs or use them in a salad so that they have firmed up a bit.
