Ideologically Obama and Romney are identical and there is no way a liberal socialist Republican will defeat a liberal socialist Democrat as the Republican would not have a political base to appeal to for support. That is why the Democrats have spent millions to get Romney nominated. They know he cannot beat Obama in the general election and steal enough votes of democrats to make up for the disenfranchised Republican conservative base that will not vote for Romney.

Either Santorum or Gingrich being the nominee is the Democrats worse nightmare because such a nominee will energize the Republican base and give hope to the independent voters who tend to be conservative. There is no way for Obama to defeat either of these two candidates.

As much as us conservatives LOVE Rick Santorum, any of us with brains know the smart move in these primaries is to vote for Romney. If Santorum wins, then we are stuck with Obama another 4 years for him to mess up and socialize the country even more. Romney has a CHANCE to beat Obama because he is a more moderate conservative, unlike the more conservative Santorum. I find it funny, though, that everyone critizes Santorum for being the most conservative. People say they want a "moderate" but Obama is the most liberal person in this country.

Unfortunately liberals only vote for anyone they think will take care of them in a 'nanny state' or because there is one area of self-interest they care about and they could care less about the welfare and survival of the greatest and most free Country there has ever been in the world.

We were once a Country of people who longed for and fought for freedom, who worked together, who worked for their families or endured and conquered hardships in their personal lives by working out their own problems and working with their churches and communities.

Sadly, the masses reject these values and elect those who care only about their exalted positions because they are willing to give up American freedoms in favor of one or two things that someone else can work for to provide for them. These things are passing and self respect and things of true value are lost to them to a bondage they will chaff to get out of but sadly it will be too late.

I guess it is inevitable: every Country in history has fallen and people for centuries have lost their freedom because they settled for what some dictator or group of dictators promised everything and only exalted them. Humility and the best interest of others seem to be a lost virtue. It's really sad we are living in this age and cannot even see it.
