Golf practice training program advice?

Basically i'm a junior golfer (aged 14) and i'm off a handicap of 12. I'm looking to really improve this summer (target handicap of 6) but i need more guidance on my practice program. On average I will have 3-4 hours a day after school to play approximately 3 times per week and 10 hours to practice over the whole weekend. I'm looking to improve all areas of my game and have a full range of practice facilities available to me (range, pitching area, putting green, nets, bunker area, course.) i currently have lessons so i'm on the right track in terms of technique. Could someone please devise a practice plan which will be beneficial to me and that i can rigourously stick to over the summer months? Thanks, Will

Ten minutes stretching. One hour one the range being slow and methodical. Start with wedges and half to three quarter swings, concentrate on hitting balls to a set distance in a tight group. move through the set of irons, practicing shot shaping while picturing the hole you will be playing. Like the third on your home course. What club do you need to tee off with and what shot shape does it call for. End with the club you will be using to tee off with first. Practice putting 30 minutes. Start with six balls in a circle of five feet around the cup. If you make all six move to ten feet and repeat the drill. Practice lag putting for 10 minutes all six balls should be in a tight grouping. Grab something too eat and drink and relax. If your feeling lucky head over to the practice bunker area and spend a short time playing in the sand. That's where I met my wife.

Don't get back into the golf business. Your observation was absolutely right about club pros not playing. I came out of college and got a job as an assistant pro. I was able to play a decent amount. But still worked 50 hours a week and needed more hours to pay the bills. I joined the Hooters tour on a limited sponsorship and was lucky to be able to do that. Once the sponsorship ran out, it was over. I could not make the money to pay my own way into anymore tournaments. And I was sick of waking up at 5:00 AM every Sat. and Sun. Plus, the shrinking economy is going to hurt the golf business. Courses are going to be closing making landing the GOOD pro jobs even tougher for a newby. I got a real 40 hour/per week job and now I play more than I did in the business. My game is improving and I'm playing in more tournaments every year. Don't worry so much about distance. Just putt, putt, putt. After you've done all that putting, putt some more.

Hey I play off 6 just by chance , I dont have a great short game which lets me down alot but i have a great long game . I have a mate off +1 who has a descent long game but an unbelieveable short game , I mean he stiches nearly everything . so I would recommend getting your chipping ,putting and bunker play to a very high standard and everything else should really fall together with practice and tweaking :)
