why do we Americans go as a U.S military to Iraq and kill muslims?
I mean we call our selves Christians and followers of Christ, then we go to Iraq and kill people. The Bible clearly says in the ten commandments thou shall not kill. then why do we do that? I'm joining the army but I' not going to go to Iraq, or kill anyone.
Who are those people who go to Iraq and kill? are they Christians? what do you think.
please do not blame Christians for this because its not the religion itself but the people. Unlike islam they do terrorism in the name of allah.
Thank you in advance.

Oh I never forgot the 9/11. it was a disaster and yea they deserve to be punished, why would they kill Christians?

The focus of your question has less to do with Military and more to do with religious belief systems and motivations and should probably be posted in the Religion and Spirituality forum.
I say this because most people on this forum probably do not know much about religion or really care too much about it. But you're in luck because I'm a Christian and a Soldier as well and have an interest in religion.
"Why do we Americans go as a U.S military to Iraq and kill muslims?"
To answer your topic questions, we did not go to Iraq to kill muslims. The war in Iraq is not religiously motivated for the United States and isn't even a focus. If the war was religiously motivated for us, we would be sending missionaries to convert the Muslims to Christianity, but this isn't the case.
As you know, there is a separation between Church and State in our country, which means the government does not favor one religion over the other, even though a majority of Americans claim to be Christian.

The reason we went to Iraq was to bring Saddam to justice, to prevent terrorism, and establish peace and security in that country. The commandment given in the Bible as thou shalt not kill means you should not murder. You need to consider the overall context of the verse in relation to the events taking place, understanding them in their proper historical and cultural setting and how these verses were understood and applied throughout the Bible.
Within Christianity, there is something known as the theory of just war. It was proposed by Augustine of Hippo, a 4th century Father of the Church at a time when rulers were becoming Christians. He realized that as public servants, Emperors would sometimes need to wage war in order to protect its citizens and to establish peace and justice.
Augustine pointed out the many times throughout Old Testament God asked the Israelites to wage war and slay certain inhabitants. From that, he came up with a criteria that sought to make war justifiable. Two of these criteria were just cause for termination and right intention, which I personally believe the war in Iraq meets both.
As for you not wanting to kill anyone if need be, that might be an issue and you should probably consider not joining the Military, or at least not the Army, as we are the main fighting force of the Military.

Are the Christian Soldiers in Iraq who are asked to defend the Iraqi people, government property, and themselves Christians if they kill when they are attacked? I say yes. Now, if they were killing for the sake of killing or killing without justification, that would be a different story. Only God is capable of judging the heart of a person.

You really shouldn't join the Military dude, lets be real. Not only are you putting your own life in jeopardy, but the life of everyone else. When you join the Army, you are a member of a team; a warrior who is disciplined and follows orders.

Despite what you hear, Islam is not a religion of peace. Sure, there are moderate Muslims everywhere, but the doctrines of Islam are very militant.
There is a thought in Islam, taught by all 4 schools of Islamic Jurisprudence (Law), known as the two houses: The House of Peace (All Islamic countries) -vs- The House of War (All non-Islamic countries). The House of Peace is always at war with non-Muslim countries until they are brought under the sword of Islam.
You should read some history on Islam as well as the Qu'ran (the Qu'ran is not read the same way as the Bible. All earlier verses are abrogated by later verses in the case of contradiction).

It's not the religion that we're fighting - it's a terror group whose constituents are coincidentally Muslim.
Don't feel too cozy quoting the Bible - the Book is full of "An eye for an eye" style comments.
As to 9-11: the group that did this were from Saudi Arabia.
Go figure.

Now that last part wasn't necessary. Just like you say it's not the Christian religion but the people...it's not the Islamic religion either, but the people. It's not the entire Muslim community, which includes about 6 Million of our fellow citizens.
And you should seriously reconsider your choice to join the army with that point of view.

they don't many people unfortunately believe everything that happens on television and the news(don't get me wrong the news is sometimes 100% but many times its just 88%) we didn't go to Iraq and kill innocent Christians that usually the talk of angry political nuts we went in and killed the extremist of the Islamic religion who wanted to kill their own people and would kill anything American just because we are American

Whatever you do, with your viewpoint.... do not join the army. You have no place in the army. They want you to kill whoever they say without question, you are no use to them if you can't.

We went to Iraq to oust Saddam, who harbored/facilitated terrorism against democracy. That he was muslim is incidental.

So please explain how you join the Army and not kill anyone when you are called to battle. Are you used as a decoy ?
