Why do Conservaties want ot spend tax dollars on a fence...?

People generally don't like to have to make tough decisions. So they vote for whoever makes the most attractive promises, without ever asking 'How do you plan to do that?' Like for instance, Newt Gingrich promising us $2.50 gas. Nobody ever asks him 'How are you going to do that?'

Republicans exploit the illegal immigrant issue. It's a real issue but the Republicans foster intolerance by simplifying the issue and also exaggerating the problem. The fact is, Republicans LOVE immigrants, illegal or otherwise, because they work cheap. A large ready pool of cheap immigrant labor keeps down wages for ALL workers, and cheap labor is one of the highest values of the GOP. This is why the last president to give illegals amnesty was Ronald Reagan and the last one to try to do it again, and fail, was GW Bush.

Despite all the fevered GOP talk of 'anchor babies' and terrorism and drugs, we all know the real reason they come here is to work. When the jobs dry up they'll stop coming. So it makes sense to prosecute employers who hire them. But the GOP won't do that. To them, people who employ illegals are heroes!

The fence idea is something else. When a candidate appears on an interview show on TV or a panel discussion or is asked a question on the news, he has maybe 15 seconds to say what he's going to say. So he can't say 'Hey, this is too complicated to discuss in this format. Give me a minute to explain my ideas.' Instead he has to have a statement all ready that sums up his position in 10 seconds. So 'Let's build a fence to keep them out', is the easiest solution to propose in 10 seconds. It's simple, easy to explain, everyone understands it, and it marks him as being totally anti-illegal-immigrant.

But you know what they say--for every serious complicated problem we face there is a simple quick solution that can be explained in ten seconds, that doesn't work. Build a fence. End the fed. Return to the Gold Standard. Drill Baby Drill. Abortion is Murder. etc. etc.

I think they need to fine each company $100,000 per illegal, and use that money for the fence and border patrol.

And we'll import lettuce for $3 a head.

I want fines and jail time for those who knowingly hire illegals.

All you liberals want to do is TAX TAX TAX!

Stop stealing our money. STOP SPENDING!
