I think answers you have received are good. Wonder why you still insists? So let me add my answer here.

Born as human being with Brain/Mind is some thing special gift given to you because other animals have not.

Our duty - with Mind and Intellect - is to raise ourselves above animal level or even to search God. This is expected to be done by human beings only including you. If you do not do this, it is your choice no one can or shall force you on this count.

Now, if you do not search for God, then enjoy material life with pain and pleasure and die like an ordinary human being. This too is your choice.

This means if you do not wish to go for spiritual progress, it is your choice.

But Hindu and other religions are formulated to give individual follower, a guide line or a path, that can lead to your spiritual up lift. This is the philosophy which can be practiced optionally.

Our Saints have practical experience for spiritual progress and what ever they realized, they have told us through religious literature.

Common advise given by such Saint is 'ask who am I' and while getting answer from within, you shall get more light for progress and slowly but surely, you are on track.

Your success rate depends upon how much you put in but as per experienced Saints, they are certain that if any one, I repeat any one desirous of knowing about God, can only know through knowledge from within only. So a starting point 'Who am I'?

Again, it depends on your thirst to know God so you can try in small parts or bigger parts of the day. This too is your choice.

Any one can live without knowing God, so do not worry if you do not wish to know about God and enjoy worldly life and die.

Now if you are convinced with above answer, then choose your path and enjoy this way or that way.

Path to know God, is only for those who are brave and put their head first, before walking on that path. Take this advise literary.

I believe we are born into this world with, as you say, basic survival instincts then as self awareness and imagination (which I call the greatest gift of evolution) we start to develope our own moral code to fit in with our surroundings and fellow human beings. These can be shaped by numerous outside influences notably what we learn from our parents. The rest of our lives we are constantly modifying our thoughts and actions to suit our circumstances. I like to think there's inherent good in people because that in turn makes life more satisfying and rewarding. Many people seem to need a ready made set of rules to organise their lives for them but I think that is denying the gift of intellect which should allow us to think for ourselves. Most of the problems with us humans is having trouble getting the balance right and suppressing those survival instincs we are born with.

Self-knowledge is important.The life and person,religious, spiritual or not, depends on what is right in terms of behaviour; It is an expression of our Being. What we do indicates who we are but does not totally define Oneself.We can change our mode of behaviour or we can act as if we are someone other than who we really are; so actions alone cannot define who we are. Making Choices and Decisions is normal and are at their best when these Choices and Decisions are consistent with: our Human Nature, Intend a Healthy outcome and are based on Right Principles. At the Natural Level we need to know that we are,'Human' and so we need to know what being Human means. At the Spiritual Level we need to know that we have a Soul. These two primary factors in being Human.ie Body & Soul, intend a unified and balanced Person with a Personality to match. The choice of Right Principles should intend and result in a Right Character. A Right character must be a product of the right use of Bodily and Soul faculties pertaining to: Mind, Heart, Intelligence, Memory, Reason,Understanding and Will. The whole composition of those things which determine that one is Human and cannot be anything else is the beginning of Truth towards oneself.We need to know who and what we are so that we will be true to our-self as being a Physical Human; EG. not an animal but not an angel, but a Bodily Entity with a Soul.

This is opposite to being SOMEONE we are not and SOMETHING we are not. We can adopt a personality and a character trend but we will ask and poss. other people will ask," Is that who and what we REALLY are?. Others will poss.say, when will he or she be normal, natural, themselves, instead of acting. I think it is important to be ones natural self. To be ones natural self involves acknowledgment that Human Beings are a composite of Body and Soul. these have faculties and Natural and Supernatural Gifts and Abilities to reach out for God and to be co-operative to God's Plan of being Blessed and Righteous in His sight because we attempt to use the whole person that we are in ways which accord with His Will. God Himself is the ultimate purpose of our existence and development and Christ is the Model of Being Perfectly Human in a Supernatural Way.

Dear friend, read "Srimad Bhagavadgita" where you will find Arjuna asking similar questions to Lord Krishna and gets answered by the Lord himself. But you should read all the 18 versions completely and slowly to understand them. It is advised to keep reading them again and again as each time we read, newer thoughts unfold in our minds and our understandings become deeper and deeper.

However, it is always better to have a Guru (teacher) who knows philosophy very well to guide us towards understanding them. Otherwise, it may lead to misunderstanding.

You have a very good understanding and if everyone were asking themselves "who am I" they wouldn't be starting wars. We have come here to help and be part of the solution as much as possible, as opposed to the problem. So, yes, sustain yourself, while maintaining awareness, for the benefit of all beings!

The questions....( who am i, why we are here, on the earth, what is the purpose of human life.)....all of them relate to spirituality... and The Eternal Truth God.

And sometimes, God test us that How much we trust on HIM, how much we Love Him....in specific situation. Divine... demons, good ... bad... all from God This is real truth of Human life.

Certainly.... God always lives deep within our soul. Do you really think.. God feels happiness when we suffer pain? Not at all. But He expect something from us.... that is "Pure love in Pure Soul".. Actually we are spiritual souls but we are in human body.. we are from spiritual world. God has sent us on the earth...only for self realization.. as our souls are not as pure as, they have to be... So God has given us human life where our body feels happiness as well as suffers pain. Therefore, we souls are here... to achieve... the level of purity..... To become pure soul.... we should make an effort to understand the deeper meaning of unconditional love for all living beings.... in every situation..

Well i believe that the main reason of our existence is to worship God , that's why he created us , and he created the environment around us to help us in living , so we can continue worshiping him , then comes the test results , who has been a good person and a believer wins , but who doesn't loses

Newton's law action-reaction principle also applies in spiritual life. in a spiritual way. one thing, is that no one but u can find the true purpose of u'r birth. may be u'r parents r not u'r choice, but its u'r chance to find out without losing u'r responsiblity.
