I find Answers very interesting and if I can help Answers are even more interesting for me. I am an older person and, like it or not, have had experiences and gained some degree of kNowledge which might be helpful to others. I think helping others is a good reason to give without expectation of reward or praise and I find this in Question&Answers..

  • Why is Redemption and Salvation not the same thing?

As far as I know, redemption is the purchasing by Christ of all mankind from Evil and the offer He makes for all mankind to have the Graces He offers to Know, Love and Serve Him Him in this life and be eternally Blessed in Heaven with Him for l Eternity. As far as I know , Salvation is both the Healing by Grace/Faith& Charity --persevered in until the last moment of ones life; have I got all of this right??

  • Has Russia been Consecrated?

It is very important for some devout Catholics to know whether or not, Russia has been consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as She requested in Her appearances at Fatima, Portugal, 1917. Some Say it has others not; hence confusion. In the view point of many, the request is important in assessing the future welfare or otherwise of the Church and the World. I would be interested in your insights; thank you.

  • Please let me know what your thoughts are on the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares?

Regarding the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares I have an impression that the Parable is very relevant to the nature of these days, especially by virtue of the ability of "Tares" to choke the growth of " Wheat". You might have other insights and I am sure I would appreciate them; thank you.

If you were asked to establish a Grounding for a One World religion, what would you choose to do towards that goal? This is a serious question and one that bothers me, so I hope I can obtain some help to get my thoughts straight on the issue.

  • Why the inappropriate charge?

Recently a Dutch politician visited Australia. His conferences intended to enlighten us Australians as to why Australia as a Nation should be more aware of Islam and Its stated ambitions. He drew from his own experiences in his native Holland.Numerous people rushed to condemn him and establish him as a Racist in the the public mind. Some news media sources seem not to have caught onto the fact that in criticizing Islam he could not be a Racist since Islam is comprised of people from many nationalities. Why do people not know what it is that they condemn; I really do mean,"Why'

  • Pagan things and JW's?

It puzzles me that numerous JW's hold once pagan things as still pagan when in fact are consecrated to God and therefore no longer Pagan. There view point does puzzle me because before they were/are baptized they were themselves not consecrated to God. So, if things which were once pagan remain pagan irrespective of being restored to a godly function what can be said of people who were once pagan?

  • Re. the religious situation in Holland?

I had hoped to have an insight into this situation if only by virtue of the visit of a dutch politician as one who declared he knows the answer. However, the media was loud on his condemnation and any reference to the heart of his explanations re. the social character of Holland in his time ( now) I must have missed. My question is specifically about the religious character of Holland today and NOTHING else. Does anyone have a reasonable answer?

  • Richard 111; is he to be buried in York?

Is King Richard 111 to be buried in York? If so, isn't this a cause for embarrassment? Richard is a Catholic and so was the cathedral of York,(?) If this is so then the cathedral now claimed by Anglicans is not an appropriate place for resting his remains. I am sure he will not haunt the perpetrators but to me, ignorant as I am, it seems to cloud history and contribute to false ecumenism

  • Does any Catholic Reader know of a person called; Maria of Divine Mercy?

There is a woman called, Maria of Divine Mercy apparently based in Ireland. She communicates her prophecies and commentories on the prtesent world situation from a religious view-point. She is possibly a 'hermitess' but I am not sure, if not this, somewthing like this. I would be intereseted to kow more about her.

  • Re.St. Valentines Day?

St. Valentine's day is a custom which allows for people to express their affection or admiration or love to another of their choice. However, I was disappointed to read in a Christian Magazine that Christians of their own blend should avoid this custom because it allegedly gives place to expressions of lust; the inference is that its pagan origins remain to this day and so the type of love the custom expresses is apparently imbued with a pagan/carnal type of love which Christians can't avoid. I was astonished and disappoint red that Christian Leaders would broadcast such an untruth.

  • Why is it beliecved that 'Human Conciousness' survives?

Quite a number of people have had Post-death experiences. Given this, why do some Christians believe that Human Consciousness is dormant at death?

  • Why do some people consider the Virgin Mary to be what She is not?

For some it is supposed that the Blessed Virgin Mary is a "goddess". I find instead that those who are closer to Her as being the Mother of our Redeemer and whom He regarded even when dying on the Cross, think of Her as a Human Being highly favored by God, overshadowed by the Holy Spirit and willing to become the Mother of the Prince of Peace but not a 'goddess'.Further more, those who think that others regard Her as a "goddess" cannot actually say why they do! So, why do they?

  • I puzzled; why did they leave Jesus out of the fight?

Recently, in Sydney, Australia amongst other localities around the globe, Muslims demonstrated because of slurs directed towards Mohamed, but, I am puzzled, because, it was declared recently that Jesus is a Prophet of Islam. Given this and the fact that Jesus is denigrated so often outside of Islam, why was He left out of the there rioting and others of the same nature?

  • RE. THE APPEARANCES OF THE VIRGIN MARY AT FATIMA IN 1917?

The Appearances of the BVM in Portugal 1917, culminated in that of October 1917. Including the 3 child seers, approximately 70,000 people saw and experieced the solar miracles of that date-as reported by the secular atheist press of the locality,'O Seculo'. Whilst Natural wonders of the Heavens are of great interest to many, I have wondering if any Readers of Answers have an interest in these, albeit caused by a Supernatural Source?

    Intelligent Answers would be appreciated!!

  • The Great Leap into Religious Speculation...?

I find it too great a leap to be acceptable on the point that one of the Evil Powers in the End Times will be the Catholic Church. Usually, this is referred to as; the Roman Empire. I find no substantiation of this. I know the opinion serves those who propagate It but nevertheless without9ut substantiation I find it an offensive speculation which thereafter gives me a distaste to all else that is said concerning the Elements End Time theology. Am I missing out on something that could change my mind.

  • WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTANDING THE CHRISTIAN FAITH;SOCIETY OR SOMETHING ELSE?

The Christian Faith is best when it proves Itself in action; by definitive acts of Faith, Hope and Charity but these can be found in non-religious forms by elements in Society, so my question is; does Society determine what is the Christian Faith if not why not?

  • Is there to be a One World Religion?

I have noted that in the Christian Arena there is an official stance and policy towards Ecumenism; the type by which all religions are seen to be equal. One Dictate is not to try to convert other people.

Personally, I think this is against the Dictates of the Gospel so to do, but to think that some Main Stream Denominations, at least here in Australia, would add to a system, that would contribute to a One World Religion is hard for me to accept. Is it possible in the studied opinion of contributors to Answers to enlighten me on the subject with adequate/some detail?

  • If there was something that improvable in the field of Catholic education in Australia, what would it be?

A considerable number of people I have met in Australia, complain that their children are non-practising in their Catholic faith, irrespective of the expectations placed in catholic education. So, was there something within Catholic Education during the last thirty years which caused a loss of faith and practise in students of that period? It is a mystery to me! Studied opinions would be read, gratefully!
