Quite a number of people have had Post-death experiences. Given this, why do some Christians believe that Human Consciousness is dormant at death?

The NDE of Dr Alexander, Neuroscientist, " Consciousness most profound mystery in the universe.", Proof of Heaven."
As neurosurgeon, the medical belief that when death comes when the brain stops and that's it. You are in nothingness. However, he concluded it is a fact that consciousness is separate from the brain. The brain dies but consciousness or our soul in the Christian parlance, do exist n will go back to its Maker. None of that brain activity, oxygen depravation thing as some says.
... Today Alexander is a doctor who believes that true health can be achieved only when we realize that God and the soul are real and that death is not the end of personal existence but only a transition.
So, here goes the belief down the drain of there is no heaven from atheists, the Jehovah Witness and other nonchristian groups.

"Quite a number of people have had Post-death experiences."
No they haven't, because they didn't die.
What they had at most, was 'almost death' experiences, pre-death experiences.
I don't care how long their heart stopped for, if their brain hadn't deteriorated, and was still able to be working again after being resusitated, then they were never dead, they were never in anything more than a state of semiconcious or unconcious or some coma or something.

Ecc 9: 5 The living are conscious that death will come to them, but the dead are not conscious of anything, and they no longer have a reward, because there is no memory of them.

From what I gather, when close to death experience is that you are conscious but no longer conscious of the body you were in once.

A possible explanation to the "white light" is that when you die, there is an overload of chemichals releasing in your brain. Just the same as you become incontinent..
