The Great Leap into Religious Speculation...?

Question

I find it too great a leap to be acceptable on the point that one of the Evil Powers in the End Times will be the Catholic Church. Usually, this is referred to as; the Roman Empire. I find no substantiation of this. I know the opinion serves those who propagate It but nevertheless without9ut substantiation I find it an offensive speculation which thereafter gives me a distaste to all else that is said concerning the Elements End Time theology. Am I missing out on something that could change my mind.

The only relation to the Catholic church and the Roman Empire is the seat of the church sits in the heart of the once Roman Empires homebase. Rome, Italy.
Where you get the idea of End Times and the Catholic church being the evil involved is a mystery to me.

The CC is one of the oldest living institution in this world servicing the children of God. It has been the source of power since day one and until now: e.g. Pope JP11, besides Reagan and Gorbachev, one of the party to end communism in Europe.
There is no speculation.. the CC will do anything under the sun to "tend, feed the sheep and lambs of Jesus." No one could do it, excepth the CC; If one consider that evil, then one is antichrist.

Well Rome or the vatican is that city which sits on seven hills, which whom all the nations fornicated. i.e. the Revelation 17 verse 5 "And upon her forehead a name was written, "mystery Babylon the great, The mother of harlots and abominatons of the earth."
