Richard 111; is he to be buried in York?

Is King Richard 111 to be buried in York? If so, isn't this a cause for embarrassment? Richard is a Catholic and so was the cathedral of York,(?) If this is so then the cathedral now claimed by Anglicans is not an appropriate place for resting his remains. I am sure he will not haunt the perpetrators but to me, ignorant as I am, it seems to cloud history and contribute to false ecumenism

How does anybody know that he hasn't been given the proper burial already? What bothers me the most is finding his body under a parking lot, by accident. We have that same situation in Charleston, S. C. where they built a football stadium for the Citadel College. It appears that the contractor was to relocate the bodies of an old cemetery, which was in his contract. Maybe he did move some but not al of them. For it is much easier to move the head stones and nobody will know what is under them. years later for what ever reason they started to explore under the teams dressing room floor and what did they find but the bodies of the sailors who died on the Huntley submarine. In West Palm Beach, Florida l remember seeing a wide area, road on all four sides of it. Headstones on those grounds. several years later no more headstones. What l am saying that it seems to be a very common practice.and it is wrong.

At the moment Leicester and York are slugging it out over which should be his final resting place. Either way, I don't hear the Catholic Church trying to put its spoke in.

  • Can't have any false ecumenism now can we? But think of the tourist dollars. You actually think it has to do with religion?

Have they been holding up the funeral for 800 years waiting for a hold up in committee?

Harry Reid can beat that. How long have we been waiting for a senate budget now?
