Why do people thank the lord when someone recovers?
I mean if God is responsible for the recovery, wouldn't he also be responsible for the injury?

I think it's just an expression. I say Bless You when people sneeze. I also say "Bless his/her heart" when they do something incredibly stupid. But, I just say it to prevent me from saying "That was incredibly stupid!"

God (for the lack of a better word) is a two sided coin.. one side represents love the other side fear.. not sure which one is which but one side is positive/real while the other negative/illusory.. there is an infinite potential for both sides of this coin but the only reason the negative side exists is to give the positive side its natural value.. and as far as i know plants are still bending towards the light.

And my follow up to that is, for those people who believe that god did the healing, then why bother going to a medical doctor for help? Just wait it out at home and let god take care of it.

This reminds me of what this one guy said, he pulls someone out of a burning house and instead of thanking him they thanked God. But we are supposed to thank God for everything what we consider bad and what we consider to be good. So you thank God for the illness and you thank God for the cure.
