What do I need to look for?

I am looking to get a desktop computer soon. I don't intend to do a lot of major gaming, but I am a huge multitasker! I'll be on Facebook, and playing FarmVille, checking my emails, working in some documents, googling a thing or two. What should I look for in the way of memory and processing to beat suit my needs??

actually your definition of multitasking is what any processor of today can do easily. so first you need a multicore processor like a quad core. but the main requirement for multitasking is memory. buy AT LEAST 4gb of ram and if possible 8gb. the more the better(if you want to be future proof) but not more than 8.

get a processor like intel i5(for basic needs) or i7(recomended) and buy a compatible motherboard as i5 and i7 use different sockets.

make sure that you have at least 2 GB ram, 160 Gb HD, hyperthreading with dual processor. All else is bells and whistles
