It depends on whether you're going through a breeder, store, rescue, or private owner. Average price is $1200 for a hand tame baby grey. I got my male congo african grey for $1400. Less money for a rescue and way less for a private owner. I would not recommend buying from a private owner or anywhere where there isn't a vet record and/or health guarantee. Add onto that $1200, $600 for a large cage (at least), vet care ($200), nail trimming, wing clipping (if you choose), food, treats, toys, a playstand, and fresh foods. It adds up quick. Be prepared.

For a weaned juvenile *Very important do NOT buy unweaned babies unless you are an experienced breeder and handfeeder* 1200-2000 dollars depending on source.

For a cage, its another 400-1000

    For carrier its another 100

    For start up toys 200

    For playgyms 200 or so

Harness and food will be about 160

Base birdie wellness exam (no tests or meds) is 65

    Nails/wing feather trim is 20

    And that's start up cost

Per month after that assuming no major illnesses/issues 100-150 a month
