My internet is saying my location is out of the country and my data usage is suspiciously high?

I think my laptop is being accessed by someone else. 4od, BBC iplayer and ITV player all say i cannot access their content because I am out of the UK (I definitely am not) and also my internet company contacted me to say my usage was ridiculously higher than usual and close to the limit at the beginning of the month. My wireless is password protected but I do download alot. What shall I do?

Update:

In reply to the 2nd reply I am aware streaming is dowloading. I said I DO download alot which I think may be how I've been hacked but I haven't downloaded any more than usual, certainly not enough for me to reach my download quota in under a month.

Update 2:

I also have Mcafee software which is returning no suspicious content

You don't download a lot? You have bbc iplayer, itv, 4od? is that some kind of steaming player?

When you watch video online, your downloading...You have to download to stream video. If you are getting your TV through internet rather than paying for cable, or satellite TV, then you are downloading... A lot...

LOL, crapafee is not finding anything...WOW, what a shocker. What brand of router do you use?

Look, if you use a linksys, or any other major brand router, there is a major security hole. You might want to go into router settings, and update the firmware, hopefully your router manufacturer has come out with new firmware that will plug this security hole, and in a country such as yours, where people are crammed in together like sardines, it would not take to big a leap to guess that someone near you knows how to breach the security of your router.
