How much does it cost to report a car to te DMV for changing color of the vehicle?

    I don't believe that you have to report this to the DMV. I would, however, report it to your insurance company just as part of the discription in case it gets stolen or something.

    I'm not sure that's even necessary.

    I've had about 4 cars repainted a different color and have never reported it to the d.m.v. Why not call them and ask if you have to do that. I've never heard of having to change the color of the car once repainted.

    Assuming that you are in the USA.. this is not a concern to the DMV's They deal with ownership and VIN's as well as smog and safety requirements...
