How likely will it be for me to reach my dream of becoming a Air Force fighter pilot?
I am currently a sophomore at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering with a GPA of 3.75. I also am able to meet all the maximum requirements for the physical fitness test. I can run a mile in 9 min, do 65 push ups in a minute, and do 22 pull ups, and 27 chin ups. I have perfect vision, I don't have any allergies, and I have not been any kind of sick for the past 8 years.
** I meant 1.5 miles in 9 min

Neither. All fighter pilots do is train anymore. No one is going to try to challenge us for air superiority. If you want an exciting pilot career, go for strike aircraft like the A-10 or for one of the variations of the C-130. And as others have said, being a pilot is a lot more than just deciding what aircraft you want. They are going to stick you wherever they need you. I tried to become a pilot after graduating college with a degree in Economics and a 3.7 GPA and turning in a nice packet to the officer selection board. Long story short, I'm not a pilot.

Being a fighter pilot depends on how well you do in UPT. So far you're doing well to get into UPT. Would be better if you were in ROTC. Apply to get into ROTC. Friend went to Embry-Riddle at Prescott and graduated in 2004 or 2005. He's now a Capt. in the Air Force flying RC 135 planes. Good luck.

Well, get your mile time up. The physical fitness test consists of a mile and a half run, not a mile. It also consists of a minute of push-ups and a minute of sit-ups, as well as a waist measurement. That's it.
Do you plan on going through OTS? You may be too late for Air Force ROTC, so OTS (or applying to ANG units) is your only option. And instead of writing all of the information here, I'll provide a link. Read it. Lots and lots of good info.

EDIT: Ok, that's a decent 1.5 mile time then. Just read the link I provided. Trust me...

From what you sound like, I think it's very likely. But if you need a little pep talk, I say follow you're dreams, if this is what you truly want to do, don't hold back, if people turn you down, don't take no for an answer, keep going for the gold, because at the end of the day, if that's you're dream, and that's what will please you, go for it. You can do it, keep working for it, don't give up. Keep believing! Best of luck for the future!

Who cares about the countless thousands your bombs will kill, who cares that you'll be doing it under the authority of the UN rather than the US constitution, who cares if you'll be disregarding your oath to the constitution, who cares if the USA falls to tyranny,
what's most important is that you realize your dream of flying around and blowing stuff up...
You people make me sick!
I'm all for having a military that defends our freedom by following and defending the constitution, but that's not what's happening...
Obama/Panetta comes out last week and basically states that US troops will fight at the whim of the UN, and that congress and the constitution have no authority...

But that doesn't matter to you, does it?
No, because this is all about you and your ego trip, it has nothing to do with defending your country... Like I said, you make me sick!

you are definitely on the right track. Keep in mind that there are many people like you and only about 4,000 fighter pilot positions available. Good luck and be sure to stand out!

Become an Officer and attain the rank of Captain, I've never met a pilot who wasn't an Officer.
