How much space should I give my rhubarb?

I planted rhubarb a couple years, and am just wondering how much space I should give around it so that I don't disturb the roots when planting other crops.

The spacing between plants should be about 75cm (2ft 6in) for varieties such as Cawood Delight, Victoria, Ruby and Canada Red. However, some varieties such as 'The Sutton' need a spacing of about 1.2m (4ft)

Other plants will have to be planted at least the distance away that the root of the rhubarb needs to grow in 2 ft 6in. The leaves of rhubarb grow very large so leave space for the outside stalks leaves to grow and not cover other plants.
