GAD Antibodies and Type 1 Diabetes?

Hello, fom another type 1 but for 29 years. And high five for a 6.4 A1C! My last three 5.7, 8.9, 6.2. My question for you is this endo a new one for you? GAD i'm no expert but I do know its for a doctor to check a few places and well may be puzzled over them feeling to say you are type 2 diabetic. I hope as well your dosages are shrinking like mine has. but that's not related to why a GAD test.

Endos sell all types of diabetics and well for type 1 diabetics the doctor prays for a 6.8-7.4 for most type 1 diabetics as majority will have 8. or higher A1C results. So the doctor ges puzzled and well as well checks to see in the anti bodies to re assure you are a type 1 by medical terms over shock of a good A1C. My endo in past three years has done a GAD once a year ver my repeated great A1C results and being type 1 diabetic. Doctors do not want to feel hey why is only one patient following their diet as suggested when they have so many.They as well as my endo told me feel like they are failing their part if they have 200 type 1's and only 1 gets good results of A1C.

So do not worry on rip off. Just keep up the great control and well if endo at later date for a does a requests a GAD test JUST SMILE!
