I'm relatively new to anime, can you recommend some good series?
I have already seen Baccano, Lucky Star, Evangelion, FMA Brotherhood, Deathnote, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Vampire Knight and Avatar: The Last Airbender (last one technically not an anime but my favourite out of all of them!) What anime would you recommend? What do you think is the best series you've ever seen? Thanks guys!

Wow, so you really have a broad taste in anime just like me! Also, just because Avatar isn't Japanese-- doesn't mean it isn't anime! It is!
Hmm...
You must, of course, watch Cowboy Bebop. It's a classic. It's just one of those series that you can't help but love for your entire life. It's been my favorite series for years. It's about halfway starving bounty hunters that try to catch wanted criminals for a quick buck. The story slowly starts to unravel beautifully despite it's seemingly episodic nature.. Best soundtrack of all time, best anime ending of all time. You will love this story. By the time you get to the episode "The Ballad of Fallen Angels" you'll see why everybody loves it so much. Must must watch. (If you liked the space cowboy thing, try moving on to other space western classics like Trigun and Outlaw Star.)
Okay, if you liked Baccano you will love its less serious counterpart-- Durarara!! You will be very happy with it. There's even a few cameos from characters in Baccano. I won't say who though, but since it's set in modern times-- it's fun to see who is making the most of their immortality :) (If you like Durarara!! try out Bakuman.)
If you liked FMA Brotherhood (who didn't?) then you should try out the series D. Gray Man. It's humor, characters, pacing, and action are very similar. I'd say Brotherhood is better, but that's certainly debatable! (If you like D Gray Man check out Soul Eater. You will. love. Soul Eater. Just a little warning about Soul Eater though, I actually dropped it a few years back because the first few episodes are slow and I thought the characters were annoying. I gave it another chance, and once I got past those episode it became one of my favorite anime. Best shounen cast in my opinion. It's really funny with a great art style! It's edgy, at times sad, action packed--but with a poor filler ending! Still worth the watch though.
For a shoujo series I recommend Ouran High School Host Club. It's just one of those anime everybody likes-- even guys despite it being a romantic comedy. That's the thing though, it's not cheesy and it's genuinely hilarious. It also has a very sweet side as well. It's not as romantic or dramatic as say, Vampire Knight but it has some cute moments. It's kind of like a parody of shoujo anime, while also executing the genre to its finest degree. (If you like Host Club-- which you will! Check out Kaichou Wa Maid Sama, Special A, and The Wallflower) Maid Sama is every bit as good and hilarious as Host Club-- but about 20x more romantic.
Other series you should try are:
Monster
Hell Girl
Nana
FLCL
Kuroshitsuji ** Highly recommended
Serial Experiments Lain
Gosick
Hellsing
No. 6
Pandora Hearts (especially if you like Kuroshitsuji)
Samurai Champloo
Texhnolyze
Wolf's Rain
Kino's Journey
Witch Hunter Robin
Boogiepop Phantom
Eden of the East ** Highly recommend
Deadman Wonderland
Ghost in the Shell
Berserk
Mirai Nikki
Mushi-shi (should have writen this one above, one of the best anime I've seen. Slow episodic, and meaningful) You will like this if you like Kino's Journey
Bakemonogatari
Beck
Elfen Lied
All of that being said, I adore Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto. People talk crap about them in place of having an opinion because they want to look cool. Bleach, I think, is the best of the three. Skip the filler though. It's a great anime-- the Fullbringer arc is a little lame, but if you go on to read the manga it gets MUCH better after that. The Fullbringer arc is pretty current though, so you have about 300 good episodes before you get there. Naruto is overrated, but I still like it. I recommend watching the original Naruto (look up fillers and skip them. Very important to skip fillers) and the beginning of Shippuuden, but then just read the manga because things get way too drawn out in Shippuuden. It takes him like 5 episodes to power up and well, it's obnoxious. Naruto is very funny and good though. One Piece is also awesome. A lot of people say it's the best of the three. I disagree, but it's very entertaining!
Once you've watched those (which I think you should, it's a good foundation-- plus it's good for a mindless bit of entertainment) you should watch Gintama. It's like a parody anime, but it makes fun of (in a loving way) Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece a lot. There's even an episode dedicated to Death Note! Plus Gintama in itself (parody and references aside) very fun, epic, and at times very emotional. There's also other great popular series like Rurouni Kenshin and InuYasha. I don't care what anyone says, InuYasha and Kenshin are great anime.

Lol @ recommending Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece to somebody who has seen Baccano, Haruhi and Evangelion.
I was going to recommend Evangelion until I saw that you'd already seen it. I still recommend you watch the movie, End of Evangelion, and the Rebuild movies, too. If you liked Evangelion, Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a recent anime that's really, really good, with a sort of similar tone.
If you liked the funny/ cute stuff in Lucky Star, I recommend Shinryaku! Ika Musume. It's a show about a squid girl who has to work as a waitress to pay off her debt to the owners of a seashore cafe. Similar shows would be Azumangah Daioh, Nichijou, or K-On; all are really good.
You like Death Note? Well, if you're into the whole dark/ grim atmosphere, there's a currently running show called Another about some kind of cursed classroom where the students die off one by one and need to figure out how to survive. The finale is about to air this week.
Also, if you're just looking for stuff that everyone should see, then you can't really go wrong with Princess Mononoke or Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, both films by Hiyao Miyazaki. You should also probably watch some classics like Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell.
Hop[e this helped.

It's best not to get hooked into an anime that drags on and on and on. Stop at 150 or 200. After that, it's just not a story but a series of repetitions.
Some terrific animes with good stories and or characters are:
Gunslinger Girl
Cowboy Bebop
Gakuen Alice
Ah! My Goddess
K-On!
A darlin' one that is currently ongoing is: Chihaya Furu

Claymore, Gundam 00, Guilty Crown, Code Geass, Samurai Champloo, Blue Exorcist are a few that all have endings and are really good.
My favorites are Gundam 00 and Code Geass. Although they are both Mecha anime (Robots) the central themes are similar to Deathnote. The main characters try to change the corrupt world by using questionable/terrorist methods.

Popular ones are: Naruto, Bleach, Durarara, Soul Eater and One Piece
Ones I personaly recommend: Clannad, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Special A, Maid-sama, Baka and Test, Wolf's Rain, Monster, Elfin Lied, and Code Geass.
-Code Geass (Think of this as death note meets gundams (or transformers if you don't know gundam is))
-Fma (Before brotherhood there was a show simply called full metal alchemist not as good imo though)
-Steins Gate (This is a short series about time travel but really good almost as good as death note)
-Avatar : Legend of Korra (based on avatar... the first episode was recently leaked on dub happy)
-Cowboy Bebop (a little older series but good all the same)(about a space mercenary)
-One Piece (This is another old series but really action oriented especially the later episodes)(its about pirates)
-Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (Imagine cyberpunk at its highest level)
-Naruto (Some people may dislike it but it excels in action, drama, story) (about ninjas)
-Gundman (Basically about giant mobile suits fighting epic action will ensue)
-Princess Mononoke (Movie) (About this princess and nature... very heavy in story and some action)
-Spirited Away (Movie) (about a little girl who enters a spirit world and has to save her family)
-Shaman King (All the shamans has to fight to see who becomes the shaman king)
-Effien Land (some say its good others hate it but i'd never seen it myself)
