Do Brits call all pants trousers or just certain kinds (dressier pants) like in the U.S.?

Not to be ignorant or anything but I've never been to the UK

    I think so, I think we always call them trousers. Normally pants here are underwear, usually men's.

    Underwear= pants

    Pants(USA)= Trousers.

    We normally call the trousers and pants does normally mean mens underwear but I do call trousers pants instead! So either really!

    Well, I'm from Wales and had always called and referred to them as trousers - all kinds - trousers.

    I've moved to Liverpool where i find everyone calls them pants.
