How much would a vacation to Disney World cost?
Give or take- How much would a trip to Disney world cost? When is the "cheaper" time to go?
3 people (2 Adults 1 child under 10 y.o.) flying out of San Antonio, TX we are thinking about 3 days maybe 5?
If I chose a travel agency would it be cheaper?
I'm just thinking/ planning ahead...want to see what's out there.
Thank you

1. Price would be about $2800 plus the cost of food and some transportation. It could be done for $2400 plus food (which I don't recommend), or it could be over $3500.
Basic costs
Flights- About $1000.
Hotel- $1000 for 5 nights (this would get you either a decent place on Disney property, or a very nice/large room off-property).
Tickets- $756 for 4 days at the parks.
2. The most expensive times are Christmas and spring break (Mid-March to mid-April). Otherwise the only major variable is there cost of the flights.
3. It wouldn't be cheaper to use a travel agent, but it would be much easier and possibly a good option because it's your first time.

The most expensive times to go are during the summer, the week after Thanksgiving, the week after Christmas, and in March/April around spring break times. The other times tend to be cheaper, with fall and early winter being some of the cheapest times.
You won't find any better deals through a travel agent or website than what you can find through Disney. The only discounts available are those offered by Disney. That being said, there are Disney vacation planners who can help you find the best available deals and plan out your trip. We have used Small World Vacations in the past, and they were great. There is no charge for their service.
I would go for at least 4 days, but 5 would be better. Five days gives you one day at each of the 4 parks, and an extra day to catch up on anything you missed or go back to anything you want to do over.
It's really not possible to give you an estimate on price though, because there are just too many variables. It depends on when you go, where you stay, whether you add the Park Hopper option to your tickets, the flight costs, food pricing, etc. If you go to Disney's website, you can play around with some of those factors and get an estimate.

Go the the disney.com website and go the the vacation planner, you can just get on there and play around with the disney hotels, park ticket options, dining plan, and even your airfare. Even if you are not going anytime soon you can just get a feel on the prices, and not be obligated to reserve anything or have an agency emailing you constantly to find out if you want to book or not.
The best thing to do is to try and go when they are having a free dining promotion, thats really the only way I will go now. That will be listed under special offers.
8-25 thru 8-30
5 night All star movies, 6 day base ticket, free quick service dining, plus airfare out of San Antonio. $2432
