The Lords is highly against divorce, however, the church today allows it for extreme circumstances.
If a Mormon gets a civil divorce, the temple sealing still stands until the president of the church dissolves it. Only he has the keys to undo a temple sealing. The sealing will stand as long as both parties do not remarry in the temple. Men can be sealed to more than one wife but the wife must receive a temple divorce before remarrying in the temple.
Because of the blessings associated with temple marriages, the church will not dissolve them unless it is known that the party will remarry again in the temple.

Divorce is permitted but not desirable and highly discouraged except in certain circumstances (such as spousal abuse). If you are divorced you can get married again.
Peter has mentioned some church policy concerning temple marriage. These are just policies not doctrines. Some critics of the church like to comment on the fact that temple sealings are kept on the books even after divorce but they rarely point out the nature of the temple sealing. The temple sealing is more than just a marriage agreement there are also blessings sealed upon you that are conditional upon your faith and not your spouses. To break a temple sealing just because you are divorced would be the equivalent of being able to unbaptize your spouse just because you are divorced. Divorces are messy, there is property to be divided, children to be considered and the last thing that needs to be done is to throw non-monetary spiritual blessings and church memberships on the pile of stuff to be broken apart.

Like with all Christians, divorce is not a good thing but sometimes it happens. People are not perfect, and sometimes relationships fail. Divorce happens.
As for remarriage, we are all for it. Go go go go.

Jesus Christ said to the woman taken adultery, go thy way and sin no more. THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints says the same thing.
Divorce is a form of adultery, except in the case where the other spouse in a marriage committed adultery first.
So just like committing other forms of adultery can be forgiven through repentance...
the same thing that Jesus Christ said, that is what THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints says.
Go thy way...
and sin no more.

Not preferred, but necessary in some cases and acceptable.
