Why do I get acne every time I eat fast food or junk food?

I know that everyone says that what you eat has no effect on wether you get acne or not, and that is has never been scientifically proven. But lets say that i go a 2 weeks without eating fast food or junk food and i don't get one pimple then the next day I decide to eat some fast food, a soda and some candy, the next day I break out really bad, so how does what you eat not not affect if you break out or not because I'm pretty sure that its not just a coincidence.

Also I don't have severe acne its just I'm fed up with not being able to drink a pop or eat some candy without breaking out. Btw I'm 18 and I drink about 1 gallon of water everyday.

So do you think that if I go to a dermatologist he will be able to help with this problem?

Acne can occur for different reasons, but one of those reasons is because it is your body's way of getting rid of toxins. It has many ways of doing this, most of which the liver is in charge of. But, if your liver is being overworked and can't handle the toxins that are entering your body from the fast food you are eating, then your body's plan B can be to try and push them out through the skin.

Just because it has not been scientifically proven that food can cause acne does not mean it is not true. I think the science experiment you have been doing on yourself is all the proof you need.

Since it sounds like what is causing your acne is internal, the topical creams a dermatologist would give you may not help. And if they give you anything to take internally, that can just cause even more work for your liver.

The best idea would be to try to cut back on the fast food, junk food, and soda. Eat clean whole foods that make your body happy and this will likely help your digestive system and liver function improve. Once these things are improved, you will likely be able to treat yourself with a poor food choice once in awhile and remain acne free.

There are many different variable that can impact your acne. Generally, yes those types of foods will cause acne. Try to wash your face with a scrub to keep your pores open. Acne is basically built up oil that can't get out of a clogged pore. So make sure to keep your skin clean with a scrub, you can pick one at your local drug store, or major retail store such as Target, Wal Mart, Longs Drugs, etc.

Stress is one of the significant contributing factors to acne. When you are pressure, your body creates a lot of the anxiety hormone cortisol. This hormone throws off the delicate hormonal stability in your entire body, major to the imbalances that encourage acne development. By managing your tension, you decrease the possibilities of acne outbreaks.
