I feel like a dissapointment to myself and my family?

These past few weeks have been filled with disappointment and rejection. I was rejected from 6 out of the 9 colleges I applied to, and waitlisted for one. Of the two colleges I was accepted to, one is where my brother goes and he'd prefer that don't go with him, and the other is about $30000 out of our price range even with scholarships. I am disappionted with myself and I feel so bad for letting my parents down. When I first read each rejection letter I didn't feel too bad (except for one or two) but now that a few days have gone by I realize what this all really means. I'm not good enough, and the goals and dreams I've had and the ones my parents had hoped for me to, since I was really young are now over. How do I make myself feel better? How can I deal with this harsh reality?

Depending on the career path you make, and or have decided, your Baccalaureate degree may not be that important, e.g. Medical School, Law School, or any professional degree program where you need a Masters and or Ph.D., so long as you do well in the underground college you attend (even if it entails 2 years of community college). Just because you may go to the same school as your brother, doesn't mean that you will hang out with him. Don't blame him for wanting his space, but if you attend the same school, make sure that you make your own friends, and keep your own space, yet wave to him if you see him in the hallways, if you find it necessary. For the most part, name brand schools are not worth the added debt.

Life is about how you face failures, and then hopefully overcoming them.

    Good luck.

It may take you a little longer to reach your goals. Lots of people go to college twice but you are going and some people don't at all. All of your dreams aren't gone because lots of students in college change their major.
