Where did teams originally go through spring training?
Does anyone know if spring training has always been in Florida? Or did teams just play in the cold back in the flannel uniform days?

Spring training has been held in many places before Florida. Some teams trained in Texas. During World War II there were travel restrictions so they could not go to Florida. Teams did not train in their home cities but did not go all the way to Florida. The Cardinals trained in Cairo, IL.
